[Discussion] question about one piece?

Is the one piece anime censored? Im watching and people are getting stabbed, cut, etc and right after said injury the only thing that is left is a whole in their shirt (if the animators remember that much). Is the manga like this? Is it more bloody which actual wounds?

and this isnt much of a question but more a comment lol. if devil fruit users lose power in the ocean, how did luffy manage to beat hordy jones in the ocean if he was supposed to lose power (im on the episode where the Noah was just covered by the air bubble). he held his arm out in the word, charged up and used a new attack (red hawk) when he shouldve gotten weaker, plot?

Seems to me that ur watching OP exclusively for the fights...wrong approach definetly...

About Luffy, even seawater can't stop him when he is pissed. But in that attack you can clearly see its hars for him to proceed with the attack.

its the same with pretty much every manga that turned into anime....

so when (i forgot his name) the guy with the mark mark fruit was impaled (twice for that) did he have actual holes in his body in the manga instead of a slightly ruffled up cape?

no its just weird when say some guy gets a trident shoved through him and the most (visible) damage he gets is a hole in his cape which disappeared the next episode . . .

looked pretty easier to me, he even held hordy under water for a few minutes.

For the sake of universal audiences over One Piece anime, Toei decided to cut and censored some scenes which they deemed necessary, taking into account including children and old timers. If you read the manga, Oda showed a lot of blood and violence behaviours throughout the arcs, but the comedic sides balanced the lighthearted flow of the story in spite of the heavy plotline in the background. I suggest ya to read the manga version as well for more epicness.

About red hawk in underwater, i can't comment much about it, unfortunately. Rather than labelling it as a plotwise, it's more logical imo that it takes the same concept as an underwater volcano. Fire/magma can still burns under the sea. Also, Luffy was shown he got weakened several times whenever some parts of his body were in contact with the sea water. Observe them again.

Yeah the anime is pretty cruel. and In a interview Oda stated that water needs to be up till your knees for a DF user to weaken. against Hordy he just stuck he's arm out of the bubble.

It's simply not a gore manga. You have to understand that OP followers are aged 10 - 40, I have a 38y old cousin following it for the last 15 y. Hell, we started it together...he was 23 and I was 12...get the picture?

But on the other hand, when Oda wants to make an impact, he shows the extent of the injury. (Ace's death, Luffy's scar, Aokiji's missing leg etc.)

it censores some stuff yea but I didn't even notice that the Fairy Tail I didn't notice that there was no blood in the anime until someone pointed it out to me ... and that was about 140 episodes in XD
