ok thanks i think i understand now, but does that mean theres another kurama in minato?
Maybe, maybe not but there doesn't need to be.
That's the million dollar question. Is what Minato using just chakra or does it have a consciousness. If so that would explain why it was so easy to use. All he had to do was use it. The kyuubi couldn't infect it with more hatred so all Minato had to do was filter out the hate that's already there.
Madara said that edos can't be jinchuuriki (it's why he needed Obito to resurrect him with a real body). Minato is an edo. Tobi had to fiddle with the previous jinchuuriki hosts using rods to bind the beasts back onto them. Edos don't really have their own bodies, they're souls attached to sacrifices, while their real-life body is dead somewhere else, and beasts are freed when the host dies.
Anyways, the best explanation I heard so far is that Minato is like Ginkaku and Kinkaku the pseudo-jinchuuriki. They were edos but upon resurrection they still had kyuubi chakra. They stole pieces of chakra from the kyuubi by eating some of its meat, and somehow it became part of them. Minato took chakra from kyuubi too. And the chakra is just chakra, just like the time Naruto separated chakra from the kyuubi himself in order to be able to use it without its will attached. He keeps the chakra in one place inside him, separated from the kyuubi itself, it didn't come with a consciousness. Visually, all it looks like is a ball of energy that he draws from. That's why I don't think Ginkaku, Kinkaku, or even Minato have little beasts in them, it's just chakra.
