Here me out NB, I've been trying to figure this out with my comrades an can't come to a conclusion so i was wondering if the base could help me with this.

So we know that the manga is where the story of any said show starts from.
My ? is, If the creator of the said manga decides to make an anime to that manga does that make the manga the prototype an not the finished product, because if the creator of that manga decides to change a few minor details of that manga in the anime does that make what's in the anime not fact because it's not in the manga. I mean if the creator of the show decides to put more in the anime an not the manga then it would still be fact just not in the prototype manga? Right! or am i wrong here.

I'm having a hard time with this because to me the manga would be considered a prototype because if the creator does decide to do an anime and change a few things it would mean that the manga is not the finish product an was just the tipping point for the anime which would have more material an detail, meaning the creator could go outside that manga fact that is used in the manga and do something different(Saying just a few words or an entire plot itself differently) in the anime.

My buddies don't agree with this. They say that the manga is the official story an the anime can't override manga fact because it is the original story that the anime came from.

I really don't know because it hasn't been debated for that long between us so I was hoping that the base could help me out with this so I can close the this debate with them.

Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

I'm not entirely sure but I'm going to side with your buddies. Anime is the animation of the manga and will not contradict with the manga. Additional details in the anime could be possible flaws unless confirmed.

Thanx! I'll keep that in mind when we have this debate again.

You're wrong, your opinions are stupid and you should feel bad.

No I'm just kidding about that last part, but yeah, you are wrong.

The anime, firstly, isn't done by the manga author. It's done by people unrelated to the creation of the manga. It's the same thing as saying Fox makes X-Men movies so whatever they say in the movie overrides the comics. Or Game of Thrones is incomplete because the show changes details. Anytime there is already a work that is done again in a new medium, the 2nd iteration is never accepted as official.

That's like saying Stan Lee doesn't oversee everything that's marvel. He has to give the go ahead for the project because everything that is marvel is Stan Lee, meaning everything that's done after the original said story has to go through the creator. If the creator agrees ,then that would mean that the creator is saying that the original story is just prototype to the story that is now being presented as the official line of that story.

Can you see where my problem is, or am i just lookin to hard into this.

I think you're just looking too hard, and I know I brought up comics but Comics is a bad example since they have new writers come on all the time. What we really need to compare is a work by a single author from start to finish. So I stand by my Game of Thrones comparison. Or even the Harry Potter movies(granted I don't know much about either the book or the movies) but if the movie were to state something directly contrary to the book then the book would be the only accurate info as the movie is adapted from the authors work. If you pay close attention most film adaptations of books say "adapted from" or something similar. I feel like I'm going to start rambling and talking in circles here so in short, the original work by the author is the only thing that should be taken as "fact" imo.
