Question about manga/ anime set up

So does the anime not do the trunk future arc and not folllow the manga but did the universe tournament ahead of the manga

Uh the anime did do the future trunks arc. Only difference is the anime/manga added some stuff like Vegeta SSG.

What about the universe tournament in the manga it seems like it's just about to start I haven't watched all the anime some episodes here and there I skim through. I just can't handle gokus voice and the translations. I don't like the whole son thing he's goku to me

It's starting in the manga also. There are some raws showing it.
