question about Itachi

If the Uchiha disappeared during the nine tail's attack on the Leaf why was Sasuke and Itachi still there

wow....eh no thats way off that happened a long time before that during Tobirama's time as Hokage they were forced or...encouraged by Tobirama giving them the Konoha police to migrate to the outskirts of the village near a prison I believe. They never left the village.

It was never stated that the uchiha "disappeared".That is merely a NB theory since they were not shown (in the very few panels that did focus on ninja of the leaf attacking kurama)

While the Uchiha Clan were having a meeting in there secret hideout or whatnot, Itachi and Sasuke who are presumed to be the only children of the Uchiha at the time, weren't allowed in. I think that is what happened.
