It destroys their propaganda because gay people actually can stop being gay, that's why there is an outrage whenever a gay or a lesbian person say they're not of that orientation anymore. Progressives like to have clear cut boxes where if you are of a certain sexual orientation you were never anything else in the first place and you can never change your preference. It's that stubborn insistence on categorizing everything that creates this strong herd mentality you see today with the masses. Most of them don't even know what they're supporting but they're simply going along with the crowd. Another proof of progressives desire to fit everything into a box is the creation of political correctness. Because if you say someting that is not in line with what the cult wants you to hear then you're no longer an ally but an enemy that mustbe attacked. This is what gives rise to Social justice warriors and is why you can berate a guy for what shirt he is wearing to the point where he's in tears on what's supposed to be one of his best moments. In a real democratic society that guy could wear whatever he wanted and political correctness wouldn't even be a term because everyone has right to free speech. Only children insist on a black and white view of the world because they can't expand their horizons to see the complexity of what makes a person. The reason for that is they get everything handed to them(feminists/progressives) like spoilt kids so they can bask in their illusions of power. However, the only reason these people exists is because they got the full support of Daddy Government who has incentive to push cultural marxism on people to expand their own power.

I actually hate putting people in boxes and I'm a homosexual. If you believe that a homosexual can turn straight then you must also believe that a heterosexual can turn gay.
As for my personal experience, I did try to become straight and like women in my youth, not happened.

Yes, you can indeed change your preference. When I was young I loved to eat at McDonalds, now I can't eat there without feeling disgusted. I used to always avoid vegetables like broccoli, now I like it.

Why is that when a straight guy starts to like men later on in life people say that he discovered he was bi and not that he became bi, even though he was disgusted by men before?

Seriously, I always see people say that one discovers they are bi but I believe that the lust for either gender can be developed but none can be erased, only suppressed.

You see this case a lot with women when they give up on men.
