though he said it in an offensive way, he accurately described every relationship Ive been in, and every relationship ive observed other people in. About 5% of men find the perfect woman for them, the other 95% either are single, or spend their lives basing their choices not on what will make them happy, but on what will get them the least bitched at.

It's how you see it. Go to a lil Wayne concert, you'll see him throwing the word "bitch" loosely and the women in the concert will just be shouting the lyrics along with him. The women that complain about discrimination of women are the women that are "mostly" actual overly independent bitches who take everything too seriously. Since the dawn of man, women were to be the attractive and submissive type and men to be the lusting dominant type to keep populating our species. It's in our DNA. However you will always have the ones who lead others in the wrong direction. If you try to stare at something long enough you'll eventually find a problem with, no matter how insignificant the problem is. It's like, you can see some women complaining about how they are objectified by men when they do the same thing, guess what? Objectifying will always be around because everyone has an opinion. Everyone has standards. But anyone who takes offense to being objectified are letting themselves be objectified to take the offense to get offended, therefore, any woman or man who complains about being portrayed in the media are no better than how the media portrays them. If you are preaching to the ones that believe that just because the media says that men are dogs and that women are sluts it makes it true, then you shouldn't be preaching to those who are too stupid to have a mind of their own. Example, my sister used to read shitty magazines that all said to basically dress like a **** to get a guy. By taking that advice you are directly stereotyping men saying they just want something to ****. I for one am disgusted by the woman if her personality isn't to my liking, my ration of picking a woman to date is 95% personality, 5% looks. I couldn't care less if she dresses like a ****, she only feeds more to the media because the media created stereotypes by doing these things then they profit off of expressing the stereotypes that they created. It's like the media has become a damn religion. If the girl looks like a ****, I'm not going near her, I'm not speaking for all men but I like the more innocent/classy type because I'm more old fashioned.

Okay as I was walking the halls of my college some lady was preaching about feminism and the portrayal of women in the media. She mentioned porn and advertisements, T.V. and even comic books I listened to her and decided to do some research on the topic. Last night I read articles written by feminist about how women were overly sexualized and not all that powerful in comic books and even in manga. This got me thinking about something were do you lay the line between being sexy and being sexualized by the media? I read something saying that women in the media are shown as being to perfect while not depicting how they are in real life and I got to thinking how is that sexist in any way shape or form. I thought hard about it and as much as I tried I did not think that Victoria Secrets model strutting around in her bikini showing off her goodies was sexist in any way. I mean sure not every woman looks like a victorious secrets model but not every guy looks like the old spice guy either. How can you deem something like a commercial or even a porn film as sexist and misogynistic (hehe cool word I learned from all those articles). It really doesn't make sense to me? Wouldn't you be demonizing female sexuality if you called it sexist to display it or even demonizing male sexuality for liking scantily clad women in their undies? Where do you draw the line between sexy and sexism, isn't that slut-shaming?

Bolded - Hmm. I wouldn't view it as something purposefully against females, or towards hating them. Rather, advertisements that show women merely portray women as objects, not as people. Objects to be desired (ads with their bodies, etc.). I mean, when you look at those ads, your looking at the body. Not the person. So in a way, I personally feel that women are being advertised like objects. So in some way, that could be sorta 'sexist' ? The same could be for men as well, I guess.

...Maybe this view is wrong?

Oh I see. I mean if you were to put it like that then it may have a point. Objectifying though would be kind of weird to say though because if your having *** with a person I doubt you wouldn't consider their feelings on some level. I don't think men see women in general as breathing *** dolls and to be honest I don't think it has ever happened or will happen because we are human. To truly objectify someone wouldn't you have to remove their humanity as well?

Forget having ***. I can't remember your first post now, but weren't you talking about advertisements, etc?
LOOKING at the ads. Looking at people on the street. You don't think of their feelings, or who they are (usually). Ads in certain magazines? Are you honestly looking at those photos for who those people are, or how they feel?
When you look at those stuffs, you reactions would be more like, 'Daamn, she's sexy!' 'Look at that chest!' etc, etc. Or something like that 0_o. Same goes for guys again.

Edit - About when your actually having ***; I think there can be some cases where you may not care for the other person. Think of prostitution; on one side, its done for the money, on the other, for enjoyment. The person who's paying for it isn't really thinking about the person; but rather for their own enjoyment. I think. *** in other cases would be different. It depends on the situation, and the people I guess.
But in ads in general, you are 'dehumanizing' women in some way.

I didn't ignore your response I just thought you were trying to be humorous. I thought you were a gay guy(seriously) weren't you put up a blog not to long ago saying how you dealt with your homosexuality. Then I remember you were one of those people that said you were going to change your avatar to female one because some dude thought it was creepy. I just thought you changed your gender sign and pic. Last I remembered you were a man.

Okay Koto is a girl doesn't mean I was trying to be disrespectful, just misinformed.

No one is saying that you shouldn't respect girls I'm just asking what should be considered disrespectful and respectful when it comes to their sexuality? If a chick is in a porno film is that disrespect?
