Based on what Shikamaru asked him todo he planned on stopping it with a TBB.

i believe he was trying to help stop it but i doubt some people saying that minato took the bomb from the juubi somewhere.

I taught the same at first , but he didn't seem to have it building up and was way too close to not injury the other ninjas

I think he was going to use his body as a shield but at the same time try to relocate the TBB with his tentacles.

I thought hachibi would fire TBB at sharp angle to deflect it up abit, but noooo, this makes more sense.
