How did Boruto Naruto and Sasuke defeat Kinshiki with a Rasengan

He can absorb ninjutsu

1. Was the Rasengan too powerful and too much to absorb??

2. Did he get him off guard and then rasengans him??

OR

3. Did he forget to absorb it just like how sasuke forgot

but they finished him off with a odama rasengan think he couldn't absorb becuz Boruto hit his hand with a kunai
