How does the whole soul society work?

When a human dies do they go to it in the form that they died in?

Or do they get a new life?

I don't get it.

Considering there were children there, what I thought was that humans who die as children return to Soul Society and "continue growth there" until adulthood, then continue living for several thousands of years (seriously, these guys live for a long long time), then when they die there, their reishi (spirit) returns to the air.

Renji and Rukia were probably born in Soul Society, but everyone's guess is as god as mine...

I'm pretty sure that they said that when people die on Earth, they continue living in SS and when they die there, they reïncarnate at earth

Rukia wasn't a pure clan member; she was adopted into that clan.

Right i got it now rukia was hisana's sister so that why byakuya adopted her but i don't get the part why are there clans in soul society?

Both Rukia and her sister Hisana died in the human world. They were not born in Soul Society.

To add to what my buddy said. Hisana was late teens when she died and Rukia was a baby. Rukia grew up in the rukongai district along where she later met renji who also grew up in the rukon. Remember shuhei seen kensei when he was little and now he is quite older, also you have to remember the age in which they do age in soul society. I believe even Quincy' age the same way but it's still a mystery because of some of the stuff stated recently we shall have to wait for more info.

Also byakuya was at teen age when yoruichi was a captain.
The only ones who really have not changed much are ikkaku and Yumichika.

@ tremendous those are the 4 noble clans of the soul society said have exceptional spirit pressure and natural abilities.

I believe that it when one dies on earth he goes to soul society to be reborn there but if the person is stack on earth and the shimigami touch them with their sword thingy the go to ss how they were or else there will be no need for clans of parents there
