I'm in the Doctor Who community, where the majority of the episodes are non-canon and so it's a big deal to work out where these non-canon adventures so I wanna try start doing the same for Naruto.

Starting off:

CHIKARA ARC - most likely a mission set shortly after Team Kakashi returning from the Kage Summit as Kabuto is in his early edo tensei phase and the threat of war looms.

ROAD TO NINJA - N/A

NARUTO MOVIE #1| NINJA CLASH IN THE LAND OF SNOW - N/A

Land of Snow movie is set after the Search for Tsunade arc, as Naruto has Rasengan.

Anyway, most of the films place on the timeline can be found on the Wiki.

IZANAMI STORY
This one I have seen used quite a few times as backup and this is the worst filler I have ever seen due to many wrong things in it.

First, starting: The story is centered about how Izanami was invented to stop the overuse of Izanagi in the first place by the Uchiha clan and they started killing each other, until Izanami stopped the loop.

There are many false things in the story, the first one is because Obito said that it requires both Uchiha and Senju DNA, the only ones who used Izanagi were Obito(who has them), Madara(who also had a Hashirama meat in his mouth) and Danzo(who also had Hashirama's DNA). And I think we're quite sure Madara is the first Uchiha who could get close to take some DNA from a senju in anyway, also no one would actually think of that. But it might not be 100% confirmed since Madara knew how to use Izanagi, and he only acquire the meat piece in that same battle.

The second thing is that it is said Madara was the first, alongside his brother, to awake the mangekyou sharingan, and Madara, I think was clan leader by that time. But Madara managed to put good control in the clan, to not allow such wars to start between themselves. And all the other Izanagi users have awakened their mangekyou sharingan, which their time being before the village creation, when Uchiha were fighting Senju. So this one could slip only if we knew Madara wasn't leader by the time he awakened the MS, and above all else Madara killed a close person to him in order to awaken his MS, so it might be around that time.

There are inconsistencies yes but all the fillers are passed by Kishi and his team and confirmed if it doesn't interfere with the actual world. So I think it's hard to truly rule these 'fillers' out entirely.

What do you mean by "The majority of the episodes are non-canon"?
Doctor Who is a tv series, so that is the only thing that is confirmed canon.

There's comics and audio books that aren't confirmed. But a bunch of them were confirmed when we saw the mini episode with the 8th Doctor.

It's still thought of as secondary canon, especially as there are examples where the TV series does not match up or contradicts with the Audio CDs from Big Finish, Doctor Who novels, magazine comic strips etc etc so nothings set in stone with Doctor Who. I like to think they all happened obviously but whats shown on TV has to take priority no?

And either way if you consider them canon or non-canon it's still fun to work out where they fit into the TV adventures.

It really isn't thought as secondary canon. Everything that is shown on the show IS canon. The Audio books and comics aren't wrote by the writers of the show.
It not like Naruto, where the comic is released and the anime is based on it.

The Tv is the primary source of Doctor Who information, everything else is considered secondary and therefore not always considered canon.
I say not always, as during in the mini episode with The 8th Doctor I do believe he mentions companions from audio books and whatnot. Which therefore brings those characters into canon.

But unless it's specifically stated during a tv episode, then it's not considered canon.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying you shouldn't have fun deciding where things fit. In the end, you can do what you want. I just wanted to make it clear regarding the Doctor Who canon.

The first Naruto movie was set between Search of Tsunade and Sasuke Retrieval. Road to Ninja was really messed up with the timeline.

I know right :') what's the most likely we can make it though, before they go to the alternate dimension that is. Does the Road to Sakura filler in the anime help?

No....they're not. They're made by comic book artists and writers at Big Finish. Every now and then they'll bring in a writer who has done a little bit of work for the show (mostly the modern line of books) but that's it.

The big finish CDs and past doctor comics are based and made from a media piece which is about 20-30 years old now....I think they might be.

He said it required Uchiha and Senju DNA to use it perfectly, to use a perfect Izanagi
