Putin says no Russian troops deployed

Putin has just said in a press conference that all "armed men" are Crimean pro-russian militia and that there are no deployed Russian troops in Crimea.

I'm not the only one that was laughing his head off when this came out....

I shall quote some of the things that have been said by putin:

"President Putin: Armed groups who seized power in Crimea were "local forces of self defence", not Russian soldiers."

Asked if Russian forces took part in operations in Crimea, President Putin says: "No, they did not participate," adding: "There are lots of uniforms that look similar."

This is like some kind of parody lol. Who is writing his speeches his hamster?

I think Putin's main objective was to keep Obama from invading the Ukraine like Syria and Lybia, acting like the savior and underhandedly install a usa run government in the Ukraine. That way, USA would have strongholds close to Russian ground.

Just a random thought..
I haven't really put much attention towards this drama.

Maybe Putin didn't occupy the Ukraine for his own benefit but simply wants to prevent the capitalistic, emperial west from boosting their agenda.

russian troops have been in ukraine since early soviet union. when it broke up, yeltsin and the parliament agreed that it would be good if ukraine and russia (as well as most former soviet states) had good relationships so ukraine and russia have a military trepassing right agreement which means that both can have bases and military access to each other's country. russian troops have been in crimea since 1919. they have one airbase, a service section and one naval base arround crimea. it's their right to enforce security of their forces in a country that is in the brink of civil war. russia did not invade ukraine and all the shit you say is just propaganda
