Purge or survive the purge?

Okay, I know I be making threads that is just all around crazy and don't sound legit, but They are. Anyways.

I watched the movie, the purge last night, and I wanted to see other people answer this.
If you haven't, here what it is about. Every year, one day out of the year In amercia. Breaking the law is okay for 12 hours. So if you want to steal, you can. If you want to kill, you can. Etc etc.

Now imagined this happening to the whole world. Global Purge.

Now would you Purge, as in breaking the law for 12 hours or would you be a survivor of the purge as in waiting for it to pass?

I would be a half purge, half survivor of the purge, because I would def go to walmart, clothing stores and steal few things but I wouldn't kill to "cleanse" my soul or anything bullcrap like that. So I would purge for 6 hours and go home and survive the purge for the other half.

It's pointless to have law if you have a holiday were you can break them. There was never really law to begin with if that's the case.

I would do the same as you but for a shorter amount of time. I don't have it in me to kill another human being, much less "cleanse" my soul. I'd just go out and steal a bunch of really nice clothes and maybe try and steal a random car with no one in it and as much money as I can. I wouldn't stay out long though cause I don't want other people to try and kill me. Please believe I'll be strapped, as soon as someone comes at me, I'm shooting their kneecaps or arms/hands if I can and running away!

Btw, did you enjoy the movie? I thought it was good, I completely forgot about the black guy at one point in the movie and then his timing was perfect Lol

I'd wait it out for at least 10 years. By then all the really dangerous freaks would either have killed each other off, or moved on to some other place. Then I come out on the night of the Purge, and take whatever I see fit, armed with weapons and protection. I wouldn't kill anyone unless it was self defense, but I'd definitely wait it out first to have the threat eliminate itself.

I would be a Defending Purger. I know in some places it's still illegal to "protect yourself by any means necessary if someone trespasses your property with killing intent", so when those 12 hours come up, I will keep myself locked in my house, but end anyone who has the gall to take from me.

And yes, I did enjoy the movie. It was crazy, how that one guy was talking to him through the door.

I went see it at the movies, that guy creeped me out whenever he was begging the family to let him purge Lol. I wish he would have kept the mask on. I was happy for the family when I thought they were safe, then some more shit goes down. I'm just watching like "Damn... I'd hate to be this family" Can't believe one of the main people actually died too, the movie was pretty good to me.

This is exactly what I was thinking. I guess great minds think alike.

If there was globally no laws for a day civilization would crumble. That's why I thought the movie idea was silly.

It wouldn't be about what you can steal or kill, it would be about how long you can survive before you die with everyone else.

With nothing to hold people back and knowing that the next day life will be back to how it was. Civilization would fall and about 80% of the population would go with it.​

He is even weirder because when the Dad explains what exactly happened, the guy doesn't even care. You know he is crazy and had gotten dependent on the purge.
