A short man, hunch-backed and dragging his feet, walked forwards. He saw the girl he was asked to teach, but was not impressed. What made that kid think he could order him around? He had also heard that an associate of his was also being ordered around; who this kid thought he was, it was still a mystery.
However, mysteries were not for now. Now was the time for art. Eternal Art. Walking up to the young woman, the man's black cloak dragged along the sand, leaving a trail where he had been. He had chosen to meet in this location, at the borderlands of the Land of Wind and the Land of Fire, for the sandy terrain of his home, and the versatility of the forest he could take advantage of. Stopping near the girl, the man began to speak, his words flowing elegantly like a young, civilized man.

Welcome, young one, to the Realm of Puppetry... Before I can begin properly, I must know everything you have already learned. Please repeat any theory you have been taught, and perform the most advanced technique you have learned. Finally, summon all of your puppets for me so that I may look...
The mask over the man's face barely moved, and his straw hat covered the rest of his face, the white ribbons dangling from the piece drifting with the breeze of the desert. The way he held his hands, one might have called him limbless, though the way he moved made it obvious that he had some means of moving forwards, and these means were most likely legs. The man, legendary Puppet-User of the Red Sand, stood before the girl, waiting for an answer.

Flare watches for her creepy sensei coming from far away and waiting for him to reach her but he was very slow strange-looking person, so she kept revising her old shishou's teachings till that hunchbacked man reached her

I have learned about the weaknesses and strength of this fighting style, how the puppetry ninjutsu fighting style was created for entertainment then was made into a long-ranged fighting style.
sorrowfully my previous shishou didn't teach me any jutsu or give me any puppet to use.

Flare then smiled nicely waiting for her new sensei to teach her some jutsus of this fighting style

Have you no puppets? What a pathetic teacher you had... Take these.
Pulling out a scroll, Sasori summoned two humanoid puppets, and one large animal-esque puppet.
These are now your puppets; I have no use for them. Their names are Crow, Black Ant, and Salamander. Each of them has their own, specific uses, but those will be gotten into later... The first technique you are to learn is the basis of all Puppetry Ninjutsu... The Chakra Thread. You are to compress your chakra to the tips of your fingers, and then release your chakra outwards, using shape manipulation to form your chakra into threads. Then, manipulate your threads to attach to the joints of just one of these puppets. Once done, you should be able to manipulate it like a marionette. Once you can control the puppet properly, we'll move on.
(Karasu) Crow
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: Crow is the very first puppet we see in the series. It was created by Sasori, but is later used by Kankurou. Crow is a three eyed, four armed humanoid. Crow is one of the more basic puppets, but he is able to detach any of its body parts for deadly attacks, almost every joint having a blade at the end, allowing Crow to shoot his arms towards the opponent, and then have them return back to it. Even his head has a blade that can be extended out from the bottom of its neck when detached. This ability made it and Black Ant a very deadly combination. It also has the ability, like most puppets do, to release poison-tipped darts and smokescreens, which sometimes have poisonous gas mixed with them.
Note: Can only be used by a Suna puppet user

(Kuroari) Black Ant
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: Black Ant, created by Sasori, is a puppet that is often used in conjunction with Crow and, later on, Salamander. It has a bucket-shaped face with two red horns and a total of six arms. It, like Crow, has three eyes. Its body resembles a very large barrel, and it is hollow on the inside, making its main use to be that of trapping, while weapons enter the many slots on its body. At any time, Black Ant can literally open its stomach, and trap an opponent, able to extend the two halves of its stomach so that it stretches out and over the opponent from a very fair distance (approximately mid range) and then retracts the stomach back to its original form, closing it with the opponent inside. Its arm segments contain hidden saw-blades. Like Crow, Black Ant can detach its arms for attacks.
Note: Can only be used by a Suna puppet user

(Sanshōuo) Salamander
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: Salamander is a defensive puppet, though not on the level of defense as that of Hiruko. Salamander, as its name suggests, is built in the form of a large salamander, being one of the largest puppets seen thus far, and though it is not more powerful defensively than Hiruko, it is larger than the other puppet. Salamander is able to rise up a large area on its back to be used as a shield, making a black shield over its head. It, like some other puppets, is hollow, and it can open its back at any time and then rise up its large tail over its head, stretching it out and therefore allowing the puppet user to jump inside of it for protection. Salamander can also spew out fire equal to C rank. Salamander can only be destroyed by one who knows its weak spots, being a weak joint on its side that holds the shield in place and afterwards simply striking it on its back, or by a move of A rank or higher.
Note: Can only be used by a Suna puppet user

Thank you, Sensei! I heard a lot about those puppets and I wanted to try them

After hearing her sensei's instructions Flare started gathering chakra in the tips of her fingers and once she felt she has enough amount of chakra gathered in her fingers she starts releasing it out of the pores of her finger's skin. By using shape manipulation she shapes the chakra released as a very thin string made of chakra and she keeps releasing more and more chakra to lengthen the strings till they are long enough to reach the crow puppet.
She attaches the string to crow's 8 limbs, body and head thus having full control on it. The chakra strings weren't strong enough so they cut once Flare tried to make crow move so tried the same steps again but with using more chakra in the strings. This time she was able to move crow a bit but she didn't have full control on it because she didn't have any past experience of using puppets so she kept trying more and more while waiting for her sensei to say something

A tad clumsy, for sure, but I expect as much from a novice. Now, as you continue to manipulate your puppet's limbs, slowly being able to control him better and better, we have some exercises with that specific puppet to go through. The first is so that you can utilize his smoke bomb compartment. Your chakra threads, while attached to your puppet's limbs, actually travel through their limbs into the inner mechanisms of your puppet in order to allow you to use them. With your chakra threads, I want you to open the compartment at the back of Crow's throat, while dropping his jaw. From the compartment, a small cannon-like tube should be able to be pulled, with your Chakra Threads, through to the front of his mouth. From there, your chakra threads can trigger the firing mechanism, which will launch a smoke bomb from the cannon; the more times you activate the mechanism, the more smoke bombs will be fired. Once you can manipulate Crow effectively and can fire a smoke bomb, I shall speak with you again.
(Kugutsu No Jutsu) - Puppetry Technique
Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defense/Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10(-4 each turn its used after wards)

as Flare heard the instructions of her sensei she started gathering chakra in her right index fingertip and released them in form of chakra thread connecting her finger to the back of its head, and by manipulating her chakra she makes it penetrate crow's head and connect it with its inner structure and as she thinks that she attached the tower to the right place she pulls her index finger attached to its inner parts backwards. once her finger was pulled backwards she heard a sound coming from the puppet so she went to check what happened to the puppet.
"I hope I didn't break anything" Flare was thinking to herself

fortunately she didn't break anything and she successfully opened the crows mouth from backwards. to be sure that she could do this successfully now she tried to open the black ant's mouth while her chakra threads was attached to its inner machines from the back of its head.

she then turns back to the crow and attaches her index finger to the back of its head again but this time she attaches the chakra thread to a different machine in its head. by pulling the thread backwards she makes a small canon-like thing come out of its mouth and then after attaching a thread to a trigger like machine, she pulls her finger which makes the crow shoot a smoke bomb out of the canon.

she then keeps repeating what she has done so far till she can do it instantly and once she master this she attaches chakra threads to the crows limbs and moves it in front of the clone her sensei just made for training. while it was moving quickly around the clone Flare pulls her index finger backwards once and makes the crow open its mouth and a canon-like thing gets out of its mouth and shoots a smoke bomb at the clone which blocks his sight once it was detonated

"How's that sensei?"

That looks quite well... But do you know how to use it? Please describe for me creative uses you can come up with for this technique; a puppeteer, more than anyone else aside from illusionists, is only limited by their imagination. I need you to know these techniques inside and out; tell me very good ways to use this, and how this technique may not be as good as it seems. How it may be defended, or when it would be futile to attempt it. You can also ask any questions you have.

Using the smoke bomb as a decoy is one of the useful ways to use it, or a professional puppeteer (who's capable of using a lot of puppets at the same time) can.. um.. there's no other ways for using this smoke bomb technique other than acting as a decoy..

a good thing that I can use this method to shot smoke, flash and explosive bombs from Crow's mouth and using it repeatedly will make the opponent get confused which type of bomb I'll use next time

it would be futile to use it when I'm fighting a sensor or a doujutsu user or a professional fuuton user who can blow the smoke away.

using a fuuton jutsu to blow the smoke away is one of the best ways available but I think I can spin the puppets around me quickly to make air currents that would blow the smoke away.

and for the question can I conduct my elemental chakra throw Crow's mouth to use simple elemental techniques that can be performed by spitting things out of my mouth (Kirigakure no jutsu or katon no jutsu for example)

No, elemental natures cannot be used by Crow in this nature.
(Kugutsu Kemuridama no Jutsu) - Puppet Smoke Bombs Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user jumps up in the air and then manipulates crow to release several smoke bombs towards the enemy target blinding them in the process.
Note: Can only be used by a Suna puppet user.
Now, this second technique is used similarly to the last one, but you use different cannons to fire kunai from the puppet. These cannons are located throughout the body; in the chest, the mouth, and even on some joints. As you use it, once again please describe fore me creative uses and inherit drawbacks to the jutsu.

OK, this technique seems easy to me *to self* once I know where are those kunai-shooting canons it's done since it's much similar to the previous one

Flare makes chakra threads and connects them to the crow's hands. by pulling them backwards she opens 6 cannons that are located in its 6 arm joints and by pulling a trigger in each arm she shots 6 kunais out of its arms

perfect!

after this she opens the crow's mouth the same way she learned earlier but this time she pulls a trigger different to the smoke bombs one and it shoots a kunai out of it mouth

now for the chest cannon

she repeats the same thing in the crows chest but since it was wider and bigger place it was more difficult to find the trigger. flare opened its chest from the middle and 1 cannon protruded to outside. by pulling the trigger she found earlier the cannon shot a kunai out of it

Creative uses of this technique that I could use the same joints for shooting different types of tags attached to those kunais. I just noticed that my puppets can be used as weapon storage. the only disadvantage of this that I can pull the trigger of a smoke bomb cannon instead of a explosive-tagged kunai cannon by mistake in the middle of the battle

(OOC: my puppeteer bio will be dropped once my Ameyuri Ringo bio is approved. I'll tell you once this happens)

You are forgetting that the technique simply launches kunai, which are often blocked, in turn, by other kunai. Just something to keep in mind, though it is quite effective if used correctly.
(Kugutsu Gorotama no Jutsu) - Puppet Scatter Shot Technique
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user manipulates crow to release several kunai from his body at the enemy target.
Note: Can only be used by a Suna puppet user
This next technique has two applications, both of which I want you to practice. The first one is where you have Crow spin around perpendicular to the ground, like a top, with his limbs flailing without control. You can move him towards my Father puppet to batter against him randomly. The second applications is with Crow being parallel to the ground, and spinning like a drill. Then, you can "push" Crow forwards to hit my Mother puppet with his spinning head and flailing arms straight-forward like a drill.
Pulling out a scroll, Sasori summoned two puppets which resembled his parents a short distance in front of him, attaching chakra strings so they stood up straight and floated a few inches from the ground.

Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: After Sasori’s parents were killed by Sakumo Hatake, he created these two puppets to fill the void left by their deaths, though they were not human puppets. At first, they were simply meant for Sasori to fill the void left by the death of his parents, but later, after Sasori left Sunagakure and left these puppets behind, Chiyo enhanced both of them, adding weapons to them to make them usable for battle. Both have chakra shields installed in them, and they also have steel wires that link together with their fingers that are usable for cutting. The mother puppet has a katana while the father has a chain of kunai.
Note: Usable only by a Sasori or Chiyo character.
Note: Can be summoned separately.

Rank: D
Type: Attack/Defense/Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10(-4 each turn its used after wards)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user makes threads of chakra that are used to control puppets.

You have a Sasori biography now, correct?

yes I do have sasori

I start gathering chakra into my finger tips and release it shaped as 10 chakra strings that attaches to Crow's body and I make him start rotating around Father in midair like a vulture around a dead animal (but much faster of course). Crow spins about 7 times around father then before completing the 8th spin I make him ram with his head into Father's abdomen and carry him for more 2 spins then ram him into the ground.

Is this good? btw.. I don't know how to make crow spin like a drill.. can you tell me how?

Watching his student, Sasori sighed and closed his eyes for a moment.
When you make Crow spin like a top, to attack my Father puppet, you don't make him spin around the puppet like a hurricane... You make him stand in one place and spin around like a top, (see below) while when you attack my Mother you simply have him spin like a drill. The difference is simply how he's orientated to the ground; the first way, he is perpendicular to the ground, as if he were standing up, and is spinning around so his arms are flailing and can hit anything at random. The second way, he is parallel to the ground, as if he were laying down, and is spinning so that he hits with his head first and limbs only if the opponent tries to dodge. Both of these ways are viable, but the way you are attempting simply is not how the jutsu is performed.
I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to repeat this technique, asking me any questions you need to before we proceed.

I got it more now. thanks for clarifying it.

I attach my chakra threads to Crow's head and his limbs and as I pull the threads on his limbs I cut them to make him spin rapidly with his arms flailing while he's standing. Then, I make him move like a Top towards Father and attack him with his 6 flailing arms.

wouldn't it be better if he had swords instead of arms so he can slash the opponent while spinning?

After this, Crow's spinning speed starts to cease so I make him lie in midair while attaching some chakra threads again to his limbs and body then I pull them and cut them to give him more speed while spinning parallel to the ground like a drill then I pull the thread that is still attached to his Head diagonally to make him move towards Mother to hit her abdomen to push her backwards. If she tried to dodge by ducking, Crows flailing arms will hit her.

So?

That was much better. And later techniques do have blades on Crow for him to slash with.

Now, user of my own body, (a Sasori bio) I shall teach you a technique specifically for the soul of a ninja within this body of a puppet. Begin by opening the compartment in your stomach. Then, allow the iron cable to shoot out and wrap around either of my puppets. Then, flip my puppet behind you, smashing it on the ground. Finally, knee it in the back as a finisher.

I take off the cloak I'm wearing and I throw it dramatically away, revealing my puppet body and the cable that is found instead of my stomach and intestine. by channeling chakra in it I shoot the cable towards Father puppet and I make the cable, using chakra, wrap around Father's body. by using chakra once again to control the cable, I make the cable carry Father then flip him upside down and smash his head into the ground behind me and once that's done I hit the ground under me and dash towards the smashed Father and knee his back as a finisher

Just remember that the technique is ineffective at ranges beyond short.
(Kugutsu Kei Rendan) - Puppet Whip Combo

Description: Sasori whilst in his puppet body will grab the enemy with the whip around his waste and then flips them down behind him, before kneeing the target in their back.
Note: Can only be used by Sasori
So, now, I will have my Mother puppet approach you quickly. As she approaches, use your chakra threads to detach Crow's head from his body. Then, activate a spring-loaded mechanism in Crow's mouth to release a spike towards my Mother puppet. It's quite a simple jutsu, it's only effective if timed right at short-range, but it deals considerable damage when used properly. Especially when the spike is laced with poison.

There are two main reasons, depending on how you use the technique. The first is range. While it can only extend within short-range, you can launch the head forwards, towards an advancing opponent to stab them before they get too close. The second is as a trap. You can send the head upwards as the opponent gets near, and hold them still with Crow's body while the head emits the spike and comes back down to stab them.
Overall, just keeping the head attached and releasing the spike is a decent idea if your opponent engages in close-range combat with Crow, especially is Crow can get his head close, but detaching the head eliminates the need to rely on the opponent engaging in meaninful close-combat with a puppet. So, performance?
