Apologies for the late reply ;-;
I'll try to keep this as short as possible while making sure you get all the necessary information.
For the most part your information is right aside from some minor specifics about the history of it all which really isn't as important at this stage. If you want to learn about it, you can always look it up yourself but for this training it's not really necessary.
Touching on strengths and weaknesses, puppeteers are generally geared towards mid-long range fighting, so its really ideal for fighting taijutsu users with methods of not being able to get close, with poison needles, bombs etc. I personally believe that a puppeteer is also quite formiddable against primary genjutsu users, such as those in the Kurama clan because of the range limitations. Essentially in our RP genjutsu is almost always limited to mid range whereas you fighting in long range will give you the advantage over that.
Weaknesses are as you said: strong blows which the puppet should be able to withstand anything up to its rank in terms of taijutsu unless the puppet specifies otherwise in Salamander's case or has enhanced Taijutsu like Sakura. Other weaknesses are really very few things, but mostly anything small enough to be able to get into the puppet themselves and stop them from working from the inside. Aburame bugs, Iron Sand etc are all really good at this, so you might want to watch out for them, especially Aburame which eat your chakra or something idk I haven't actually seen an aburame user in a long time.
A puppeteer uses strings to control the puppets, and the strength of the puppeteer is generally gauged by how many puppets one can control at a time. Though for the sake of our RP that limit is three puppets. The limit is set on the techniques themselves, and not the actual number of puppets; Sasori's Parents, 100 Puppet Army all count as single puppets even if they can be summoned seperately in the case of the former.
Speaking of that limit, there are general rules that every puppeteer must follow, not really for the sake of being overpowered or anything but without them you can overwhelm your opponent really easily:
- A maximum of two puppet summons are allowed in one turn
- Shadow Clones can't be performed as a puppeteer
Aside from that first thing, two puppet summons in one turn is really a guideline so you don't leave yourself defenseless. If you perform three, you don't have the last move for the threads to control them which would leave you a sitting duck essentially. The shadow clones is more so you don't overwhelm your opponent. Having four shadow clones, plus each of them controlling three puppets each would be a nightmare for anyone to deal with, especially considering you can use freeform puppetry to a strong degree as well.
So that's about it, I usually only touch down on puppetry basics so unless you want more on Sasori specifics, now would be a good time to ask.
