The prefix is a spoiler, just incase you a aren't up to date with the manga, so if you are not I'm warning you now there are spoilers in here, from the latest chapters etc.

First of all, what do we know about punk hazard, we know that the island was not picked up by the log pose, which is weird even for the new world (stated by Nami) and that one half of the island is like a furnace with flames etc and the other half is freezing with ice etc, even the sky is different. The next thing we know about the island is that the straw hats received a den den mushi distress call from someone on the island, his crew mates kept being killed by samurai and that he thought luffy was his "boss". when luffy, zoro, robin and usopp arrive at the island they found a sign with the symbol of the world government and the marines symbol, telling people to stay out. the last thing we know is that there was an incident which happened on the island 4 years ago.

Now for the theory, if you look at the name punk hazard, this island might of been where dr vegaPunk had a lab, and he was possibly the one to cause the strange weather of the island with the "incident 4 years ago", maybe an experiment gone wrong. i think that vegapunk was researching mythical beasts and trying to create them etc, as there is Edit: was a dragon on the island.

i also think that this could of been the home of oars, or his species, and that the island used to be an ice country, another clew of this is that on the keep out sign there is a symbol which looks sort of like an oars symbol.
another reason i thought of this was because on the island there is a head melting which is bigger than a giants, maybe vegapunk was trying to create oars like creatures etc

next theory, who is the the shichibukai to which the "samurai" is after, his body was split in two, there are only two people i know that can do that, buggy to himself and law to other people, maybe buggy the clown increased his df powers so that he can make others be split in half, but i have never seen buggy talk from his limbs etc, so i would say law is the shichibukai, but this is my opinion. there is possible proof of law becoming a shichibukai
there is also possible evidence that buggy has become a warlord

following this, the straw hat crew that stayed on the ship, nami, sanji, chopper, franky and brook where all knocked out and kidnapped, (i do not know if brook was taken), if not he may end up having to save them. now if you look at the kidnappers on their back packs it has the markings ph, what could this mean
well possibly it is laws pirates, Pirates of Hearts or the heart pirates but more likely it stands for Punk Hazard and maybe they are working for vega punk and he is the one they refer to as "master". they could also be creatures which vegapunk created and thats why they don't know who the straw hats are.

The next theory is that akainu and akoji had a fight on this island that is why it is ice one side fire the other, this might be more plausible if it was ace vs akoji, but i would expect to see magma rivers etc if akainu thought there, i think that the weather was definitely due to the "incident 4 years ago" not the akainu and akoji fight. there are also people who think that they chose the island to fight on because of the weather, but i think that this is not true again as i would expect to see rivers of magma etc if they fought for 10 days straight and i would expect there to be more damage done to the island, when two top tier people fight the island is normally destroyed etc, ace vs blackbeard and also just one clash of swords with whitebeard and shanks made the "heavens divide" so i think a 10 day battle would have more damage.
i also think that vega punk somehow managed to make the island not show up on log poses to protect it, but i have no evidence of this. Maybe he just chose the island because log poses don't pick it up.

The giant kids, could be from elbaf and where kidnapped, possibly the same way the straw hats where kidnapped.
