Sasuke is somehow connected with Hamura as shown in Kaguya memories. Sasuke have Sharingan, rinnegan but he still not owning Byakugan the origin of eyes and the ancestor of sage family. Even he is nothing to do with Hamura power but Hinata the heirs of Hyuga clan is the best target for him to get the most precious byakugan. The eye that Kumogakure repeatedly trying to get but failed must be some answer to access to sage power whther is Hagoromo or Hamura. Kumo trying to get uzumaki power from kushina is one of prove that they on plot to sages brothers power. What is so special about hinata except she is future hyuga leader. Maybe the eye she hold is the related with Hamura in some sort.

Naruto will change hyuga as what he promise before and he will protect Hinata from sasuke... (just maybe)

Its pretty much hamura only exsists because naruto was always compared to the So6P so kishi suddenly adds hamura to the mix so naruto and sasuke could be equal......

Also unlikely, since there are two points which are already annouced by Kishimoto-sensei himself:

1) The Project New Era is the follow-up of the manga, and it will consist on a set of movies. The logical course of action for these would be to explain the holes in the current context... Therefore, huge plot lines are not plausible.

2) The sensei is already planning (if not executing already) a new manga project, unrelated to Naruto.
