It just feels pointless to upgrade when I already have a ps4. They definitely didn't win me over today. Scorpio is gonna blow it out of the water, and 4k will probably be much cheaper next year. Only reason I could even consider it is for VR, and it still sounds like it's only going to be marginally better anyways.

Well, the new console doesn't aim for the casual customer who already has a PS4 and is happy with it. It aims for people who:
- Don't have a PS4 yet.
- Have a 4K Tv and want to experience it together with the games in the best way possible.
- Want to experience PlayStation VR in the best way possible.
- Are hardcore graphic-fanatics.

They said that the normal PS4 will get a HDR firmware-upgrade too. So there is really no need to get the new console if you are not a "hardcore gamer". That's why they call it "PS4 Pro". The PS4 games will look damn awesome regardless of the console version.

When they showed Horizon Zero Dawn, it blew me away. This game looks insanely beautiful by default, but in 4K it's even better. A lot. These are the moments when I'm sad that this game doesn't come out for PC, because I have a 4K monitor but no port for a connection with the PS4.

Definitely my game of the year 2017. It could even rival The Last of Us as my favorite game of all time, from what I've seen so far. 4K is just insane.

I definitely consider myself a hardcore gamer, and I'm still iffy on it. Been considering getting a 4k TV in the next few months. I think they will look beautiful in 4k, but they will also look as beautiful in 1080p. If they improved on frame rate, I'd be more excited. But for the average person, you can't even tell the difference between 1080p and 4k unless you're rather close to a large size TV. It's cool for newer people I guess. But as a Sony fan, I'm good. This is just a cheap grab for extra money before Scorpio releases.

So the average person is blind? Because there are worlds between 1080 and 4K. And of course, the latter is supposed to run on larger tv's, otherwise you wouldn't need that kind of resolution. But I don't get why people are always so furious about framerates. 30 fps are completely fine to me. But I'm not that serious about technical stuff anyway and don't play fast-paced games that could need a high framerate, that's probably why I can't understand it.

No, you do not need to be blind. You need to have a large TV to notice any true difference between 4k and 1080p. So id need to buy a 60inch 4k TV, plus this PS Pro. Not really worth it, IMO. I can wait till next year, find a 4k TV for cheaper, and buy the Scorpio if I want. Not really worth the huge investment it would be right now.

4k is only noticeably different on large sized TVs and even then you need to sit up close to notice the difference. From where my TV is located, I'd need a pretty damn large TV to be able to fully enjoy this.

Do you have a PC to play games on? If so, then you don't need a XBox console, because a PC is always more powerful than a console and there won't be XBox-exclusive games anymore. If you don't have a PC to play games and you don't care for Sony's amazing exclusive-games, then the XBox would indeed be your way to go.

Yeah i know. Which is what I'm kinda getting at. Its not true 4k gaming. I really was interested in it so I could use it for VR. But, we hardly heard any mention of that either. I just think this is an unnecessary cash grab for Sony.
