I would only want PS4 for Infamous the 2nd Son and Kingdom Hearts 3. But all the rest of the games I would want with xbox. I want the XBOX ONE. And the video above seems ... Iffy.

Also PS4 -> Xbox one in graphics. They sacrificed graphics for more functionality such as kinect and cable box,etc.

Obviously ps4 is gonna be better right now. Microsoft had horrible publicity and they just started with bluray I think 3 years ago. Sony has been doing it for 10 years. Also the must have Kinect killed them. I'm happy with my ps3 and Wii u for now. But I'm definitely getting the ps4 before X1. I wont get and X1 till the Kinect is not a must have

Are you speaking from experiance? or just from what you read. Both have things to work on.

I personally dont care about either console. I dont play that much, and i could make much better use of my money makeing a pc that is twice(or more) powerful than the consoles, for like 100 more(if even that)

The whole console war is silly(because the differences are not that major. Its not like compareing the 2 systems to the wii u or anything.)

And to even get a accurate answer on which console is truly "better" you would need to only survey people who have both consoles, and or have played both consoles extensively.

It is quite easy for a ps4 owner to say the ps4 controller is better, if they have not even tried the alternative.(the reverse applies)


If i recall, the ps4 beat the xbone in sales. So unless the survey was 50 50, the ps4 already has a bias(because percentagely, there were more ps4 owners than xbox owners.)
(also the ps4 owners are much more likely to go and spout how much better they and the system are.....they were doing it long before either system was even revealed.....)(im baseing my statement based on what i have observed when the systems were about to be revealed(before any specs/features were out about either though, and what i have seen on the base.)


The only system that can claim to "solo" is pc.(it can pretty much do everything and more, much better than consoles.)

(just saying a fact....i own a 2 year old laptop that i have to turn the settings on low in games, to run smoothly....and i have consoles as well(just saying i dont have a real bias here....unlike some people)

No. Its because it is a good console like the One.

In all honesty except for a few features(which mostly balance out), they are both good consoles.

Ps4 fanboys will just love to go rub how they "know" their console is better than the xbone, and xbone fanboys, just have to play defensive and watch as ps4 fanboys dont aknowledge the fact that the xbone is not that much different.(really they arent)

Only time will tell which is the more popular console.(popular is the key word....because there is not enough of a difference to say "better".....and even if there is, what is better for you, may be worse for me, and what is worse for you may be better for me. Doesnt make it right or wrong, or someone is superior. Its just a opinion.

The xbone had a bad start(both with the higher price, and the bad early rep(though they reversed most of the negative things).

If I go and purchase a thousand dollar computer that can play more than 4 times the graphics, and that can do SO much more, im not gonna go say how it is better than your console. I would play the computer to have FUN, while you would play your console to have FUN. Sure my computer can do many more things than your console can. But your console has games i dont have. Your console has unique things that make it fun.

So even then, with a more powerful device that can do more, it still isnt better.

Yea xbox come with better launch titles but it doesn't matter, PS4 will be getting those bad-ass exclusives by summer also that PS now = PS1,PS2,PS3 Games on the PS4/PSPvita! Come on son!

Anyone who takes IGN info as actual facts shouldn't be allowed to have an opinion. I'm a PC gamer, I do not own either console, but they are both running on X86 and thus PC hardware so I know their capabilities pretty well as I've been PC building for 8 years. Also because AMD is a PC company and the PS4 is 100% made from PC parts. Making it, yup, a PC that just doesn't have interchangeable hardware. Don't think either consoles hardware is some alien technology. It's x86, so PC gamers already know it because our gaming world has revolved around it since PC gaming started.

So allow me to take off some rose tinted glasses from a lot of people.
The PS4 was going to win in this video from the very first picture that had system specifications. Not just because the PS4 has better hardware, but because IGN chose questions that it knew the PS4 was already excelling in. Every question it had in the poll in the video, have been things I've been hearing the most about the PS4 or bad things I've been hearing about the Xbox one. The Xbox one has some good traits to it as well, yes Kinect is a terrible idea and the xbox has hardware that will limit it to below what the PS4 can do...but that's in terms of gaming, not the other features the Xbox has because it wasn't built just for gaming.


First off let's look at the CPU's or should I say APU's, yes, they are using hardware that's from laptops but it's more heavily built in the GPU side on the PS4 with it being comparable to an overclocked ATI 7850, but, the CPU side on both platforms are utter garbage. In fact, they compete with CPU's found in standard tablets/laptops that you could buy at a local walmart, the only thing special here is the GPU. But even then, in terms of gaming, PC hardware already is advancing past ati 7990's, in fact it already was a year and a half before the consoles were announced. Cheap much on the console side? Remember, consoles are limited to this hardware for around 8 years, developer coding only goes so far. It ends up with devs making high graphical effects and then lowering the frame rate on the games to 30fps about 2 years in and then a year or two more and they lower it to around 12-15 fps if they wish to go further. To those who don't understand FPS, it means frames per second, here:

The Xbox having less hardware than the PS4 means that hardware wise, they both will do poorly compared to what they could've been capable of. Now then, onto why IGN is bullshit.

IGN is a rating site, similar to sites like Hotwire. Meaning that they can be easily paid to give better reviews and remove bad reviews, don't trust a rating site, instead go to a gaming forum and just ask their community. Even if it's the IGN forum. But just don't trust ratings. The less we rely on media sites like those, the better. We shouldn't be fed BS from the palm of their hands. So just ask forums or search forums, but try to stay away from rating sites. Now then I'll go ahead and tell you all why both consoles suck but also why the PS4 is more powerful than the Xbox one in terms of hardware and thus has better graphics.



For the PS4 being more powerful, it has a turbo mode feature like most modern CPU's have. Considering it's an APU and a turbo boost mode seems to be AMD's trend, I'll assume that's what they mean. I have to say, that's actually a smart idea to choose AMD for this. Most likely what they plan to do is to wait until the hardware is severely outdated and go "Well, we've only shown half of what the cpu is capable of, we'll be releasing games to take advantage of the turbo core technology implemented by AMD." Now it's a nice feature, but it can screw some things up a bit because not all chips are the same, so not all chips can handle the voltage required to make 2.75ghz stable. I expect you'll see a few consoles dying or being sent to sony for repair just like some AMD and Intel laptops that have the feature go through, just the unlucky ones. However, although both consoles have terrible hardware compared to what a PC can have for about the same price, both consoles have some disabled CU's on their chips and Sony/Microsoft could one day choose to activate them and give a decent performance boost of about, imo, about 10-20%. I highly doubt that tho because they were already having problems with heat as it was when they were finishing them up back in October I believe and had to down clock the CPU's. Activating more CU's would increase the heat output by a lot for minimal gain. Tho I suppose a developer specifically coding for one type of hardware could turn that into a lot more but I digress. The chips are still around the same power of what you would find in the average low-mid range AMD gaming laptop. So the capabilities aren't that high and it really is sad because even tho I'm a PC gamer I used to play the hell out of consoles and to see them unveil some type of mysterious powerful hardware that kicked off a new generation of gaming is like watching a magician as a kid and having your mind blown. Sadly tho, these don't really spark much interest, perhaps because I'm a PC gamer now and can see the hardware and instantly know what it's capable of doing which is similar to knowing how a magician on stage is doing a magic trick. So the excitement is kind of gone. That's not to say you won't see some good tittles and graphics that will blow your mind, but the PC being ahead of the game in every step leaves much to be desired out of the consoles.

However, the Xbox One has lesser hardware and was designed less for gaming but more towards competing with Apple TV. Of course it's going to fail in a one vs one gaming, it's not competing in that market solely. It's trying to hit multiple markets at once because microsoft doesn't want apple to take over the living room like it's currently trying to do with apple TV. It wants to beat apple, not just Sony. So it's going to fail against Sony in gaming. In fact, because of it's hardware, anyone who says it isn't going to fail against sony in terms of graphics is really blind. Only those that understand x86 hardware will understand why. The Xbox One just isn't capable of keeping up with the PS4 due to hardware. It's like saying comparing a mini Van to a Ferrari. In a race, the Ferrari wins but the mini van isn't for racing, it's for getting the job done with multiple uses. However, if anyone wants to say that the Xbox one will have better graphics that the PS4, please stop kidding yourself. The Xbox One has GDDR3 ram on an APU, it doesn't have Dedicated Ram and therefore relies on system Ram for it's GPU memory speed. So it's GPU speed is going to be limited more by it's ram and even more because the Xbox One chip has 14 CUs, 12 of which are turned on, while the PS4 has 18 active CUs out of a 20. If you want to say the Xbox One will have better graphics it's clearly because you own it and therefore are taking up for it. Please read and review before you buy, it's part of being an adult. If you're going to buy something for gaming, go for the PS4, if you want to game but watch videos, stream, have live tv etc go for the Xbox One. But if you're going to start saying things of which you do not know then either add proof or just don't post. If you guys would like proof, here you go:

The consoles were taken apart to show the dies. The review cannot lie about these things because anyone who knows about x86 hardware can clearly see the dies and see it's 100% correct.

Tho I'd like to express that if you are buying hardware for out performing another console, just take $500-$600 and build a PC that would out perform both Consoles, seriously, if you're going to start an Epeen competition then at least do it right.

That's completely impossible. It cannot have better graphics, it lacks the hardware to have better graphics. In physics, it takes at least some type of action to produce energy (Tho energy cannot be created or destroyed, only changed from one form to another). What you are saying is like saying you do not need wind to produce energy from a windmill and can just magically produce energy from nothingness. It takes higher technology hardware to produce better graphic, the PS4 has higher tech hardware than the Xbox One. If it doesn't take higher tech hardware to produce better graphics then by all means go get a PS1. Without better hardware, graphic engines can't produce better effects. The engine has to run on something, it's not magical. Give it more hardware and you can feed the engine the power it needs to create beautiful graphics. The PS4 can feed game engines more than the Xbox One can because it has more advanced hardware. Shown in my wall of text above.

I've played both I prefer XB1 but they need to fix their UI (which they are) more people go with PS4 cause of the terrible conference Xbox had. 2 years from now you'll see the gap close and this is coming from me the unbiased one and not some PS d***rider or Xbox re***d.

I understand why you would say that but I've played both for hours and I can unbiasedly say that the xbox one needs some updates or patches for the operating systems. 70% of the commands sometimes work and when you try to mulitask its extremely glitchy and laggy. Which kills all of the features Microsoft has added to set it apart.

Its just an unfinished system in my opinion and not smooth at all, especially compared to the ps4. I'd even go as far as to say the 360 was better at launch.

You can read and hear stuff about it all over the Internet, but you cant truly have an opinion till you've played one. Stats and sales and all the gibberish you'll hear means nothing till you can play one and experience them. Even some of my friends from college who own a xbox one love it, but agree with all my points on the issues. Everyone who owns a ps4 doesn't complain about its performance at all.
