So any news on what SONY said about the Backwards Compatibility? I understand the INFO is old since February I think.

Simply to say, you can't download PS1, PS2, PS3 games on the PS4 system. I think SONY's decision is still not clear about this issue whether they go with this idea of streaming old games on PS4 or let old games to be downloaded on PS4.

You can check more details in this link:

The questions are:
How is that gonna effect on PS fans?
Is SONY really gonna gamble on this risky decision or take back their words?

Sony specificly stated on numerous occasions that backwards compatibility would not be featured at launch and that they would eventually bring it to the PS4 hopefully the coming year.

Transferring data from your PS3 to you PS4 is not the backwards compatibility.

Backwards compatibility is being able to play your previous sony generations games on the PS4 or being able to download them from the online store.

What would you hope to accomplish by transferring your PS3 games to the PS4 ?

Its the previous generation.PS3 games won't have the same functions on the PS4 on that system.

Until they announce the compatibility take out your PS3 (Its not that hard it consist of two wires) and plug it is and play your PS3 game.

And if you want to play Older PS 1 & 2 games.

Plug in your PS3.

It it not complicated.

I have PS1 games on PS3.

What I'm talking about is downloading PS old games on PS4, that not gonna happen. I don't mind to purchase the same games again on PS4 (if it happened), but they don't offer this feature. Why? or is there something I'm missing or misunderstood?

This post wasn't aimed at you but, the people who are sure to enter this thread and start complaining.

At this point in time it is expected for sony to allude to backwards compatibility to get the interest out there.

I mean think about it from their perspective.

You bring out the PS4 and it can play all previous systems.

Does the customer A.buy 2 to 3 new 60.00 ps4 games or do they buy a bunch of cheaper previous generation games ?

That could cut into the initial sales of the games the console is really meant to play.

And by getting people hyped about the older games it ensures that they will demand them and eventually buy them when they do release the compatibility feature.

You don't release all the eggs at once.

You slowly but, surely drop them in one at a time as to not barrage the customer into picking one or the other and also to reach maximum profits.
