I'm having trouble watching blu rays on my ps3. Whenever I start watching one, it gets about halfway through or something, then the disc starts jumping or something. Can anyone tell me why, or might have a possible solution to it?

It could be your laser reader. How old is your system?

are you sure it's the actual disc and not the player?

Uhm... I'd guess it's 2-3 years. I got it at this time of the year, just don't remember if it's 2 or 3 years ago.

No, it's the player, considering that it happens every time I put in a completely new one as well.

It's probably the laser reader then. Blu-rays are very reliable discs so that's not the issue. Maybe the reader is dusty, dirty, or in the worse case scenario, defective...

Since it plays your disc partially, I think it's your blu-ray lens who got dusty/dirty.

As a precaution, I don't recommend you to try clean it by yourself. A brush can do more harm than good, if used without proper notion.
If you got money, buy a Blu-Ray Lens Cleaner DVD [ or from an electronic/game store. It's a bit of an old method but since your disc does play and block, it might work.

Otherwise, instead of trying to clean it yourself, leave it to a Repair Shop for Cleaning. Might be in safer hands. If it diagnoses that your PS3 is actually defective, then I hope your warranty goes beyond 2-3 years :p
