So instead of buying a PS2. I thought of downloading PS2 games and then run them using the PS2 emulator. So I have this problem with my laptop that when I try to run PC games, it shuts down automatically due to overheating. I would like to prevent that and when I play GBA games using the Visual Boy Advance emulator, it works fine. So will my laptop will be fine running these PS2 games without overheating?

Laptop Specs:

Intel Pentium Dual Core T2330 @1.50 GHz
1 GB RAM
Intel GMA X3100
Windows XP SP3

I dont think so.

You laptop would perform the same with PCSX emulator, unless there are some changes in emulation settings.

Im sorry though, I have no idea what those settings are, try asking in the official PCSX forums.

I can't run crap on my laptop. -.-

I use PCSX2 for my desktop and it runs smooth. The only drawback is the iso from one of the games I play is glitchy. It doesn't matter where I download it.

To broke it to you

1)your RAM is n't enough
2)Your Processor isn't enough
3)your cpu wasn't able to handle excess heat
4)your laptop insides is full of dust
5)Do your laptop has a heat sink problem??

Any one of them may be reasons

My Ram and the processor can run games according to the official website. I guess I will just buy a PS2... I will try running a PS2 game tomorrow on a emulator and see if it works properly..

You need to upgrade gpu.
CPU is what PCsx2 mostly requires.

I've been using PCSx2 since I began computers around 6-7 years ago. No, your cpu is not enough. It is only barely enough for final fantasy which is mostly what they use for testing a lot because final fantasy can be emulated fairly easily with hardly any cpu power. To run most games you'll need 2gb of ram and a 2.7ghz amd dual core/triple core or intel equivalent. I have an entire thread on PCSX2 here in the gaming section.
