Actually, the presence of Indra could have even emerged in part 1. Most likely after his fight with Naruto at the valley of the end. When he reached Orochimaru's hideout Kabuto was frightened by his chakra and said he had seen nothing like it. However Indra most likely started to have a stronger influence as Sasuke began to awaken Susanoo at the Kage Summit.

Good and evil are perspective. Kids on this forum have such limited perspectives. Sasuke was not any more evil than ninjas who worked as killers for a Militia. Kishimoto also stated that Sasuke is pure, and beyond the notions of good and evil. I like the fact how he deified him and left Naruto amongst the tangles of mediocrity.

Except he wasn't.....he was completely cold-hearted and pure evil. Even before finding out the truth about Itachi. He tried to kill Naruto twice, teamed up with Orochimaru, and was possibly going to kill Naruto, Sakura, Yamato and Sai in cold blood had Oro not stopped him.
Okay, I forgot about that. But it was strange though why he didn't want to kill those fodder shinobis and the curse mark people that he met afterwards.

Interesting. Though perhaps when Sasuke was obsessing over how far Naruto came in terms of his strength, was actually Indra. Subconsciously, Sasuke felt this way because of Indra's past relationship with Ashura. Because we didn't know of these entities in Part 1 we merely thought it was Sasuke and Naruto's thoughts. But in actuality it was just the spirit of Indra that felt that way. Just speculation though.

I actually can't get it. What Kishi meant by "pure"? Is it just a mistranslation?

sure, sure, sacrificing karin, or putting a hole through 12 year old naruto's chest, that's just him being crazy, nothing wrong at all.
Did u read my post? I theorized the influence of Indra, and Indra had influenced him at least since the Kage Summit obviously. I was talking about the "real Sasuke".

Not exactly. If he was truly "evil" he would have killed Naruto at VOTE or plot would have dictated that kakashi arrive in time to save Naruto. Sasuke let him live. As to their reunion at the begining of part 2 well you could be right but we just don't know because, as you said, Orochimaru stopped him.

But I agree with the OP. Sasuke was never truly "evil" corrupted by hatred? Sure. A thirst for revenge? You betcha. But he never actually killed anyone. Most everyone he fought either killed themselves or succumb to their injuries/illness. I think the only person he truly killed was Danzo, but fortunately for Danzo he had Izanagi otherwise he would have been a smear in Sasuke's Susanoo hand.

That sounds quite legit.
