If the only reason you refuse to associate him with the leaf is to prove that he doesn't take orders from Naruto then don't bother, because clearly Gaiden showed that he is part of the leaf but he still doesn't take orders from anyone, but rather gives them.

Sasuke never accepted his head band at 699 either he said he would return it to naruto after they settled things. remember the entire reason Sasuke took it off in part 1 was because he rejects the leaf. the manga never stated you can be unmarked as a missing nin either. he is just associated with the leaf similar to Jiraiya

And the picture below shows that he already returned home in Konoha which is where Sakura and Salad reside, he's just busy with the mission he's doing that was stated around 700+4 or 5

But shinobi can't just wander in as they please. Kakashi said that Sasuke had been pardoned and he was given back/still carries his forehead protector - you do the maths. Besides, you're acting quite dense.

lmao. Naruto's goal in 699 was to stop Sasuke from trotting down his evil path, and to ultimately bring him back as a ninja of Konoha. Sasuke still has the leaf headband Naruto gave back to him in 699. Pointless to even argue this the the movie synopsis says he comes back home to where his friends and family are, IN KONOHA
