Protecting Rin

Everyone knows that Kakashi promised Obito that he would protect Rin and we do not the reason as to why Kakashi went back on his promise and killed Rin. However, is there more to this promise then meets the eye? Obito instilled into Kakashi his motto that 'those who abandon their teammates are worse then scum' and therefore ever since Kakashi and Obito have always strove to protect Rin. In the recent chapter where Obito kills the mist ninja they seem to want to retrieve Rin's body. Do you think that the reason Kakashi and Obito are so determined to protect Rin is because they have always know this secret about Rin? Maybe this secret is similar to Hotaru and the kinjutsu implanted on her back. However, as kakashi was willing to leave Rin for the good of the mission back at Kakashi Gaiden it throws a spanner into this theory. The only reason Obito made Kakashi promise to keep her safe is because he loved, I have no idea what is so special about Rin but she is definitely not a spy.

Obito wanted Kakashi to see the future for him
Rin was also passing it down so that she could be a "source" of seeing the future for Rin
Kakashi might had did it out of the wills of obito and rin, (obitos first will of the sharingan, and rins will of the MS)
But we will see, of course it turned out to be bad news for obito
