Why when there are like 2 MAN protagonists , they at some point fight?

If you're talking about Sasuke, he's clearly the main antagonist of the manga. He opposes Naruto, his ideal, characteristics and his blood heritage.

If you're talking about some other... idk.​

I suppose to either further develop the characters or move the plot. Then again, I'm sure many people like seeing two protagonists beat the hell out of each other.

From the characters point of view it's most likely to prove who is stronger.

Aside from that we also have plot purposes and character development.

in HxH Gon and Killua never fight each other and the thing that i love so much about it is that neither one acts all butthurt when they're getting outshined by one another. They don't get jealous of each other and never fight each other.
