Lawl. Twas a good idea, and you're not really wrong. Senju dna would make larger summons easier to summon, as the increased chakra would make larger summons cost just as much now as smaller ones did before.

The size of snakes is a result of the Kuchiyose jutsu indeed, however; the jutsu being bigger implies higher chakra reserves from Orochimaru likely gained from Hashirama's DNA [which increases your chakra quite signifcantly] from which he obtained from the Zetsu.

Question: We know that Orochimaru perfected the creation of Hashi cells via the revelation from Danzo. Who's to say he didn't already have hashirama cells and when he absorbed the zetsu he just gained a whole body full of Hashi cells? I mean that would make a lot more sense.
