I was writing rules for my Naruto role-play when, suddenly, an idea popped into my head.
I dubbed it Project Apocalypse.
Project Apocalypse is a text/forum-based role-play set on planet Earth years after World War III and a Limited Nuclear Exchange. The RPG will be based around four classes and develop itself through a system of absolute customization and the Moderator interference will be minimal.
The system is based around every user first registering, using the name of their then un-approved biography as their username.
Every user will be able to choose form four general classes.
Super Soldiers - Mobile and lightly armored, a Super Soldier is equipped with an Advanced Combat Armor and often an assistant A.I.
Mechs - Slow but heavily armored Mechs are easy to hit, hard to destroy and lethal at all ranges.
Pure Ones - Mobile and often unarmored, Pure Ones are able to manipulate Energy outside their bodies, some being able to manipulate or create elements or materials.
Impure Ones - Slower than the Pure Ones but faster than the Mechs, Impure Ones are able to manipulate Energy inside of their bodies, using their abilities to change form cause incredible mutations.
The idea is that a baseline of abilities and equipment will be created, but from there, it'll be purely up to customization. A user will create, for example, a new handgun, or a new type of Mech and have it approved. His current biography will then be the inventor of that piece of eqipment or mech.
The idea is that all inventions are bound to a users biography, not the user himself. Of course, the actual user will be credited, but in the role-play itself, his next bio won't be able to take the credit for the invention.
The idea is that everyone creates their own 'Kaito's Taijutsu', resulting in, as the role-play evolves, hundreds of different branches and crossovers of abilities. The whole thing will be regulated by a point system to ensure stability amongst the role-players.
'Energy' in this universe will be a force that a minority of 'mutants' can use. These 'mutants' have their roots in the radiation from the Nuclear Exchange.
I'm already writing the war that results in this new, horrifying world and I have so many goddamn ideas!
Any suggestions, questions, anything?
Oh, yeah, the baseline is that you invent something for the role-play and is credited for your invention. It's like Kaito's Taijutsu here on NB, merely on a whole new scale. Instead of 'mine' and 'yours' the brilliant inventors are credited and remembered while those who merely use are just that.
The whole thing revolves around customization and things being biography-bound.
Yes, there's a shitload of specifications lacking in this explanation, but I'm way too excited to get 'em down, not to talk about getting 'em down properly.
