[Question] Profile Design

How does one design his profile? I mean I done it before but it was messy. Is there anything that is very specific on what I need to know? Like background picture size, colors where they go in certain spots etc,

First step: Pick an awesome color scheme. I suggest picking one that corresponds with your profile pic and background
Step 2: Mess around with the customize profile button and take note on which thing (Modules etc.) controls what.
Step Three: Incorporate your color scheme.

Have a cute background and then experiment different colours on different options
