Process of Approval

I was just wondering the process of how a bio gets approved. The way it looks to me is a mod goes in there...IDK what they do, but then they leave without anything seeming to have been done. I've been watching the bio section ever since i've posted my own bio and it's now on the bottom end of the 3rd page after 9 days (so far). It just seems odd to me that with 7 moderators that are able to approve bios, there are 5 pages of unapproved waiting (yes, I understand not all are waiting to be approved, as some have been posted in by mods to make corrections and the OP just hasn't). When a lot of the time, throughout the day, there are around 3-4 of these designated mods logged onto the site at a time. I understand everyone on here has real life issues and occasions etc etc, and they have their own things they deal with and partake here on NB but...

• Why does it take so long to approve something you just have to read over?

• Why isn't it part of your first tasks when you log in?

• If it's too much to handle, why are there not more mods for this?

• Is there a group approval that needs to happen within the mod circle for a bio?

• Why do I see mostly experienced and or people who already have bios being approved vs newer members custom bios?

I'm not trying to come off as an impatient and selfish bitch, but frankly it just blows my mind that whenever someone asks why their bio's havent been approved everyone jumps on their nuts and tells them to be patient cause the mods have lives, too. I'd like to know so I'm not left in the dark wondering why the hell my bio, as well as the other 5 pages are essentially untouched. I am not a mod, obviously...but...If that was part of my mod duties then I'd make it a priority which, frankly - doesn't seem to be a huge concern to most of them.

Also, please refrain from any flaming...I'm aware this has been brought up before but there hasn't been a legit answer from anyone of authority.

Inb4 mods have lives too, and be patient noob.

get your frustration I once took me a few weeks to get approved for an update.
But what people have to realize is the MODS all have multiple jobs to fulfill. So sometimes it's easy to over look something, especially since Naruto base is international and has 100,000 + members.
The best way to get a bio approved IMO is to post it wait a few days and if no one seems to check it or approve it. VM a RP MOD (preferable Cali) and tell him about the problem and provide a link. Then be patient because they will get back to you.

Just remember the MOD have a lot to do and with most things on the base it takes time and patience to get something done.

Well there is only 2 mods that check and approve bios
Cali who is a G-Mod which has alot of other responsibilities
Alucard also has other responsibilities
Nexus checks bios but i believe thats only for his medical students and special bios

1.Because it is boring to read a full page of text about ten times a day and like that every day for a few years and because most of the bios are repeated many times it is just like reading the same book over and over again.

2.The bios aren't the most important thing on NB.They have to check are the rules being folowed for 80000 active members.

3.Because it is realy hard to become a mod especially a rp one and also not everyone experianced is villing to even try to become a mod because there is a lot of work to do when you are one.

5.I don't think that is true I'm nor experianced nor popular on NB and my bios were approved more or less at the same speed as for the other members.

Thank you all for the calm replies so far! I wasn't aware that there are only 3 who actually go through with approving bios. I suppose the list of mods in that section mislead me.

I thought about pming one of the rp mods but I assumed it would have the opposite affect of what I would want, thus refrained from doing so. I'll wait a bit longer to see what happens before doing anything drastic.

What I meant here was...Do the bio's need like...a group vote in order to be approved.

Reason for asking is because as I said in the first post, often times there will be a mod in the rp bio section for a bit, then they'll just randomly leave. Was a thought that perhaps they just took note and referred another mod to look it over.

I stated in the first post that I previously saw mods point out these mistakes as you have said, but as of late....Nothing of the sort. The most recent posts by mods in that section I've seen have been by Mathias recruiting ink users so he can train them. Which, these bios are ofc by members who have other bios and are dropping previous ones for the one they want approved.

It's just kind of a bummer for people who are new and DO want to get into the rp (as well as have a well put together bio, considering), because what it really does look like (from someone who is pretty new and eager to participate) is the newer member bios are overlooked for the more experienced.

Bio section is a bit backed up because one of the main checkers has been busy in RL.

You need to be patient. If a post with 3 custom jutsu can take up to 15 minutes to read, judge and approve/decline all, imagine what a bio won't take? Lets not forget that bios must fullfill tons of rules and minor regulations regarding them and its not only putting the approved stamp on it.

I hope you understand that sometimes things get a bit backed up but you also need to understand that there are 7 of us for about 1500 active roleplayers. Patience.​
