I'm started to notice tidbits about these hokages that are showing me why their world turned out the way it did. First of all, stop it kishi! You're killing my positive image of hashirama man.
Hashirama- He seems like a great man. Honorable, and wants everyone's best interest at heart. The problem that I see with him, is his lack of long term plans(After konoha). Just look at his reaction once he was resurrected, instead of saying of course konoha has lasted, I built it to last. He's the type of guy that says "Ok, we're going to do x, x, and y now. I want z, z, and t here and there". Hashi is one of the causes for the future conflicts because love in too much doses is lethal. Yes, there's nothing wrong with love ITSELF but sometimes he applies love in times, and places where plans & politics should be. Madara says " hashi, how will we deal with x & y when they happen? What will my people be able to do then? Hashirama: We'll solve it when we get there, I'll think of something! Madara would say no, the uchiha can't wait until then.
madara- what caused the uchiha not to trust him? How did the uchiha build up such a reputation with other clans as well? What's up with all those rumors circulating the uchiha? That just shows trust for them was low among the existing villagers, which I can see one reason that tobirama gave them control of the police force. Yes, they were unpredictable but by being a help to the village maybe they could work up trust. madara never fully forgave the senju, because izuna probably told him to protect the clan and continue fighting the senju. Forgetting all of that would be a disgrace to his memory. He chose spite & vengeance in the end. This let's me know that the peace agreement was actually pressured by the clan. madara probably went along with it, and eventually started to think it could work.
Tobirama- speaks for itself. Where I do kind of agree with some of his politics, I think because he grew up fighting the uchiha and their sudden change to allies was weird for them. You just don't pick up a new after fighting fir years, and say there's no shelved feelings somewhere. Deep down, I bet both sides still had their eyes on one another even if they didn't say it. Nobody in the village was willing to trust uchiha except for hashi. I agree that tobirama just went about the wrong way. He was weary & tired after years of fighting but knew the capabilities of the uchiha. Sometimes you just have to have some faith man.
In conclusion, it takes heart & mind to bring peace IMO. You have to have love for all types of people, but you absolutely cannot ignore those who are not on board.
