Who do you think would've ended up victorious?

I'm going with Rayleigh. Maybe...

This is prime Sengoku btw.

Now speculate!!!

Rayleigh, obviously. U_U

How is it even obvious ?

Roger and Garp said that they almost killed each other dozens of times when they fought.

Rayleigh is a step below Roger but Sengoku is always pictured as an equal to Garp. Just like the admirals were pretty even before timeskip.

So if anything based on hype and hierarchy I think Sengoku wins this.

we don't know how powerful current Sengoku and Rayleigh are and compared to WB, Roger and Garp they have less hype

Garp equaled Roger and I think that Sengoku was a tad below him while Rayleigh was a tad below Roger I would say they were roughly equal, one was probably somewhat above the other but probably it was very close ... pure speculation

I feel like they were roughly equal, so it would go either way. It could be that since Roger was stronger than Garp, Rayleigh was stronger than Sengoku(or Rayleigh being on par with Garp). Kinda like how Luffy is stronger than Smoker and Zoro is stronger than Tashigi(Smoker and Zoro could be on par at the moment). And Shiki, for me, was the weakest one amongst these legends from the old sea.

Roger=Whitebeard>Garp>=Rayleigh=Sengoku>Shiki.

Rayleigh wins this. Sengoku wasn't that old in the Marineford war, I mean he still had black hair, so he can't have been that far off his Prime. While if we assume the difference between Roger and Rayleigh is similar to the difference between Luffy and Zoro, then Prime Rayleigh is almost as strong as Prime Garp/Whitebeard and in my opinion could take Sengoku.

However its still debatable and is a good matchup.

Rayleigh as most people theorize that he was the strongest swordsmen of his era.

It could have been Roger since he was seen going into battle with a sword.

Hm, how should I say it... I see Roger like our current Shanks, both of them are swordsmen but not the best. I don't see Roger as being a swordsmen but rather a incredible haki user. That would be cool is he was the strongest, as it would be the first time we've seen a swordsmen who is also a captain of a crew.

Sengoku imo.
I mean, even in his old age he was able to easily over power an old Garp and hold him down, a feat I doubt Rayleigh would be able to accomplish. Then if we go back to his prime his strength should have been even greater, maybe a little below Garps. That as well as his DF would be too much for Rayleigh to handle. Although it is hard to say as we havent seen much from either, even in their current state let alone their prime.

Via power-scaling: Roger=Garp=/>WB>Rayleigh>Zephyr>Sengoku

So yeah, I'd put bottom dollar that Rayleigh takes it High DIFF.

Hard to tell. What we do know for sure is that Roger and Whitebeard were equals. Garp was likely the third strongest after those two, or at worst he and Rayleigh were equals. I think Rayleigh would win extreme difficulty, or it's a draw.

Rayleigh of course :), he was probably around Whitebeard's level at that time.
