The word prime is highly overused and falsely used.

"Prime Itachi"... logically it would be Itachi at his strongest point. Which we know is with the Disease.

"Prime Nagato".. Logically it would be the period where he became to be called a God.

oh funniest thing I saw today, someone saying current K11 with Naruto's chakra cloak are "prime K11".. -sigh-.

"Prime Kabuto"... apparently this Kabuto is Kabuto with all 30 edos (even though the prime of a person is just reflected to his own body and not the summons). Am I saying the summons aren't in his arsenal? no... I'm saying Edos have their own power. They of course are Kabuto's power as much as the Uchiha clan is Madara's. Hyuuga clan is hiashi's.. and so on.

And no I'm not bashing on the characters I have listed.. I'm simply talking about how the fans falsely use the word prime.

I guess we have different definitions of 'prime'.

I always thought prime meant a character with all of their abilities at their disposal with none of their handicaps.

But I guess you could say that those characters aren't 'canon' I guess. It doesn't really matter.

That simply means you are talking about another character. If you say "Itachi from Naruto".. then you must judge how Itachi was in Naruto. If you say a healthy Itachi with every thing then that isn't "Itachi from Naruto".

That's pretty much my definition of Prime

I'm confused, some characters refer to their prime more as in their younger days. Tsunade when fighting kabuto mentioned her prime. I'm pretty sure current Tsunade > prime Tsunade. But eh, who knows maybe she considered her prime to be before she starting shortening her life.

But she still the same type of woman, i haven't seen new things from her besides what she has shown in the battle with madara... just few things about her seals. I have to re-read those chapters.

Why do guys keep saying that Itachi isn't healthy ?

Yeah this is why i'm confused because nothing has changed other than the whole life span thing and her age. I've never really thought about what prime should be considered as though, i've never really used it in discussions.

Sadly I did not create the word prime. Hence why it can not be my opinion or my definition.

I simply stated the word prime is falsely used. And it is true with the examples i provided. Because some people when others say "prime" stick to their prime in the actual manga they exist in.

He always had a disease. But personally it is a overused excuse.

Exactly, it simply causes more confusion.

Prime: the period in life when a person is best in health, strength, etc. : the most active or successful time of a person's life.

I have an idea why doesn't everyone post their own personal definition of Prime and then we can discuss further?

OT: I believe Prime = when a character is at its peak around in their 30's and is skilled enough to intimidate others with their strength or hype and many fighting abilities

I believe someone's prime in terms of Naruto is that they can use their full power without being handicapped.

Therefore then they should be called Theoretical Itachi, because it has not been proven or disproven of what prime Itachi is since you nor I have physically seen the past lives of characters.

And this is what a human's prime is also. A Human's prime is considered around their 30s. Even though they might be faster when they were 19 or 18.

Exactly. Prime Itachi refers to Itachi at his strongest.. so whenever that was.
