I think his Prime has been overlooked by his old age. Also, his tittles were exaggerated.

Hashirama was the strongest Hokage, before Naruto. Not to mention everybody and their mother trying to steal Hashi cells because they want a taste of his power.


Also, does anyone seriously believe Hiruzen could overpower Ay or Ohnoki. Jinton negs Hiruzen's entire arsenal of jutsu.
