One thing Kishi is consistant about is that power has a price, for example in order for a Uchiha to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan they have to feel the loss of someone they care about and to get EMS they need there brothers eyes. That is a steep price.

Another example is Jinchuriki have horrible lives and have a monster inside them yet they achieve great power. (They get even more power if they tame them).

Tsunade's regeneration trick shortens her life, even Nagato's life was shortened when he used his strongest Jutsu.

So does anyone else think that Hashirama paid a great price for his power but we don't know what it is. The dude's genes are magic but why?

How did Hashirama get this strong? Was there something he had to do to achieve such power?

I think there was but no one knows for some reason. What are your thoughts?

I think hashi power comes from being related to the sage younger son . having the sages body. haven't seen any draw backs yet. but i agree with your overall point

Okay so I was just reading another thread, and this is what i think based on the discussion there:

The Uchiha's have to do something drastic before they get the power-ups, but I think for Hashirama it could be the opposite. The effect could be that after using all these techniques it significantly decreases his life-span, or something similar to what happens to Tsunade (they are related, after all). Maybe that was part of the reason he said he didn't want to do what he did but that "it can't be helped". I know mostly he probably said it because he didn't want to fight Madara, but it could have other meaning, too.

But there is always the possibility Kishi was just like "lol no price to pay for you".

I think he paid a price too. I just can't see such a powerful person loosing and dying in war.

wen u grow up in a continuing waring state, where all u do is move from one battle to the next, u get to a rediculous level... then when u are deemed the top ninja of one of the top two waring clans of its time, u no ur at that rediculous level... and once your at that rediculous level, you dont really come down from there (except from extreme aging)...
