A lot of people are looking for manga to enjoy, so I thought I'd give a bit of a summary on a few of them that are generally overlooked instead of the big ones like The Big 3/Code Geass+Death Note and you get the idea. These are pretty much 3 different genre, so look for the one you like. I was debating about suggesting Onani Master but then I realized that I myself lack a wide range of read manga and couldn't find a good one outside of the 2 previous genre >_>

Liar Game
This manga starts off with a woman who is often described as purely honest. In fact, others say that this honesty is one of her biggest weaknesses. This makes her extremely vulnerable when she is chosen to take part in the Liar Game. In this game, she and another opponent are given 100 million yen in cash. But by the end of the month, both will be forced to pay back this huge amount. This is a chance to gain up to 100 million in profit, but everything you profit off of, turns into the opponent's debt... and even if she achieves victory, the end might not be as simple as it appears to be.

This manga is basically set for those looking for stuff similar to Death Note/Code Geass or something on the same stance as that. Intelligent beings clashing at each other with extremely well thought out tactics and tricks.

A typical phrase by Akiyama

Shingeki no Kyojin
I will tell you in advance that this is a frightening manga for a lot of people. There are extremely gruesome scenes at times that some may prefer not to see. The plot has to do with mankind cornered into a city surrounded by a huge wall of defense. The reason for this is the existence of Titans; huge humanoid figures that solely kill humans. Not for food, but for the very idea of slaughtering them. Very little is known about these Titans, but the fact is that they're becoming a huge threat, and humanity is becoming closer and closer to extinction.

If you are looking for a manga that will make you crank out the old night light and start thinking about morals, I think this is probably your best bet. A bunch of action packed into one.

Onani Master Kurosawa
The first thing you are probably going to think is "is he trying to get us to read some 18+ material"? While the name may suggest that, it's much more of a romance/comedy manga and doesn't actually contain anything that needs censoring (although there is implied stuff in Kurosawa's mind, just a warning). A slight parody of Death Note, this has to do with a strange teenage kid who sneaks into the women's bathroom after everybody is gone and "relives himself" every day after school. After he's caught doing this by an even weirder girl, Kurosawa is blackmailed into following her commands until things turn to the worse for him.

This chapter is basically 18 chapters of setting up for the real action. It'll probably be boring for most people are first, so I'd only recommend it for people who are into extended romance manga. The whole thing's only about 30 chapters so it's not too bad.

This is a Death Note parody

Shingeki is actually the latest manga I've read. I must say that the writer is NOT afraid of killing off characters in the harshest ways possible. What really gets to me is the appearance and bloodlust of these mysterious "Titans".

The first two sound interesting. After I finish Samurai Deeper Kyo (which I've forgotten about for like a month) I'll get to reading them.

Oh, and thanks for the reccomendations. :D

Since we're all recommending manga here, I'd like to take this chance to recommend the greatest manga in existence(although, it's not like they're exactly the regular NB users type judging by the posts I see daily lol).

1. 20th Century Boys
This is easily the greatest manga I've ever read in my entire life out of dozens and dozens and dozens. To cut to the chase, courtesy of wikipedia here's a basic summary:

In 1969, young boys Kenji, Otcho, Yoshitsune and Maruo build, in an empty field, a hideout they call their secret base, in which they and their friends can get together to share manga and stolen porn magazines and listen to a radio. To celebrate the event, Otcho draws a symbol for the base that would represent their friendship. After their friends Yukiji and Donkey join the gang, they imagine a future scenario where villains would try to destroy the world, and in which the boys would stand up and fight; this scenario is transcribed and labeled Book of Prophecy (よげんの書 Yogen no sho?).

The series itself opens in the late 1990s, where Kenji is a convenience store owner, finding solace in his childhood adventures as he takes care of his baby niece Kanna and his mother. After Donkey is reported to have committed suicide, Kenji stumbles upon a large cult led by a man known only as "Friend". The cult has a plan to destroy the world on New Year's Eve of 2000, (referred to in the latter half of the story as the Bloody New Year's Eve), and the events that are currently unfolding are suspiciously close to the plan documented in the Book of Prophecy. Kenji begins to recruit some of his older friends, including Otcho and Yoshitsune, in an attempt to stop Friend.

The series spans several decades, from 1969 to 2017, which in the chronology of the series, becomes 3FE (3rd Year of the Friend Era). The series makes two distinct timeline cuts during the story; one from 2000 to 2014, and one from 2014 to 3FE. Several parts of the series are also told in flashbacks to previous events as the characters attempt to unravel the mystery of who Friend is and how to stop his plans of world destruction; most of the children's backstories through the 70s and 80s are told in this fashion.

Overall, the plot follows the friends as they initially try to piece together what the Book of Prophecy contained, and eventually attempt to predict the next attack, which begins with biological attacks on San Francisco and London, followed by a series of bombings at a major Japanese airport.
After that it gets pretty spoilerish(SO DONT USE WIKIPEDIA!!), I'm not sure how cliche it sounds to you personally, but various various sources can say Naoki Urasawa is the greatest mangaka to ever live and this is one of if not the greatest manga evar. It's very deep and revovles around many many time skips back to the 60's and back to present time, I seriously recommend this so much that I'd pay if it were to become more popular to the average manga reader. Not to mention, I'd suggest dropping whatever shit(because every other manga pales in comparison) manga you're currently reading right now to go read this. It's like 240 chapters and it has a short ~30 chap sequel 21st CB.

2. Monster
Now there's probably a couple of other manga I would recommend like Fullmetal Alchemist or even One Piece but those are very very common so I'd rather not. Let's focus on Monster another one of the greatest manga ever by Naoki Urasawa the genius.

Not courtesy to anyone, because I write my own summaries bitch: This basically is about a skilled brain surgeon Kenzo Tenma, who saved people based on the fact of who's "more important", because that's how he was told to. IE if a homeless guy came in and was dying he'd save an important political figure first. Well because of this he saved a "more important" person and a woman's husband died as a result and she hated him for it. He changed his views and acted differently because of how detested he was at that, when there was a slaughter at a household. A boy, Johan Liebert, was rushed in with a gunshot wound in his head, while they mayor was also a patient. Since he acted against the "bias" and saved the kid first since he came into the hospital first, the mayor dies and after that his life goes to shit because he wasn't able to save the mayor but he saved Johan instead.

9 years later after saving another patient, shit happens and he finds out that the kid he saved 9 years previous became a genius mastermind serial killer, the story revolves around stopping him but it's extremely deep considering it's Urasawa, duh.
Easily recommend this one too, another incredible psychological thriller/whatever you'd like to call it. Then again like I said, I don't know how appealing Urasawa's god level manga would be to the average NB users. I would suggest checking the wikipedia summary since they do a better job than me lol, but beware of spoilers since they're everwhere.

I will recommend another one though, I want to focus on the pimp beast of manga for today sons.

3. Billy Bat
This definitely does not get as much recognition as it deserves. I'm pretty surprised it's not as popular as it should be. It's horribly underrated, if anything, this manga has the potential to surpass 20th CB by its finish. This manga is really really amazing and it's still ongoing. Currently around chapter 80. It's by you guessed it, Naoki Urasawa the greatest mangaka to ever live.

This one actually takes place in the 1950's or so. It is about a mangaka Kevin Yamagata who draws a story about a bat, shit happens when someone says it looks familiar to something he saw in Japan, Kevin goes to Japan to find out who he subconsciously took it from when he was there in the past and get permission to use him. Now to quote wikipedia:
"Upon arriving there, however, he becomes embroiled in a web of murder, cover-ups, and prophecy that all leads back to Billy Bat.

It is soon evident, however, that the truth of Billy Bat's nature is far larger than Kevin could ever guess, spanning millennia and across the world. Kevin finds that The Bat is related to an ancient scroll which is said anyone who possess the scroll will take rule of the world."

This manga is truly incredible, it really displays how much of a genius Urasawa is. The time skips go back to plenty of times like the birth of Jesus, and Billy Bat is everywhere in the time frame apparently manipulating time or controlling people. That bat "comes to life" and talks to people manipulating them, I can't do the manga justice by attempting to describe the badassery. It involves pleeenty of events like the JFK assassination, KKK, the moon landing all revolving around the bat. Go read this shit right now son, it's only like 80 chapters then again if you guys don't like much history maybe it won't be that appealing.

I could recommend plenty more but it appears on basic forums Urasawa or good manga like this isn't too well known, even if you're not interested by the summary at least give them a try please. Let me know if you actualyl read them then again I'll probably be saddened when no one tells me. >=(

Just to name a few others that I guess would be considered underrated, Zatch Bell is surprisingly one of them. If you don't know what that is, I should probably slap you but yeah, not too many people have read it in full or something like that. Mirai Nikki would also be a good one that I recommend it was meh level all the way through but shit happened and it got intense. Plus it's getting more popular now that an anime of it was released which pisses me off but yeah. Well I could recommend more like GTO or Shin Angyo Onshi or stuff like that but like I said I wanted to post about Urasawa's stuff since he's not too well known around here. >=(

Oh, and before we go, Liar Game is pretty damn awesome too, as epic as Shingeki no Kyojin is, LG is amazing. I will hype this up more than Drakengard, because apparently he didn't interest people in it enough. >=(

These guys shit on Death Note characters, the amount of psychology and intelligence is intense. Anyway:

Kanzaki Nao finds something in her mail, it was a letter saying she takes part in the new Liar Game tournament, the objective was to steal 100 million yen from your opponent(or dont take anything at all), by the end of the month both players pay back 100 mill yen, whatever extra they have they keep as profit, and whatever the other player can't pay back they have to pay in debt.

Well Nao panics and has no idea what to do, "luckily" for her, her opponent was an old teacher. She confesses to them and like a sucker she is, because she's too honest, he says he'll store the money away in a safety deposit box..yeah let's just say he jacked all the money.

She calls lawyers and etc, no one can do anything to help her since he LGT office i sclever and avoids the law and shit like that. She asks the lawyer where she can find a con artist(LOL), he's like "LOL", I know right.

Well she sees in the paper that the famous Shinichi Akiyama, who brought down a giant corporation single handedly was getting out of prison, a fateful encounter as they meet and he helps her get her money back like a boss.

Actually, I'm not sure I did a better job, but since his scan sukked, here are some better ones.

But don't worry, those are just few of the amateur-level displays of badasss in comparison to the more spoilerish ones. And yeah, Shinobu becomes a better artist along the way in case you care about that stuff, but personally I care about a story and since I'm shit level artist... yeah >=( I'd also like to note this guy must be pretty smart to come up with the genius shit that happens in this manga.
If 1 person reads any of them, it's a victory in my book! Cha! ♫
