I suspect we could get involvement from the Sage's brother. There must be a reason for Kishi having retconned the whole "Sage solo'd the Juubi" thing. The Sage's brother can't just be left as a nameless and faceless character.

At the same time, I doubt that we're going to get to see Hagoromo in action. Maybe his spirit will come and help Naruto and Sasuke (Gohan's father-son Kamehameha, anyone?), but he probably won't make a physical appearance because, quite frankly, if he did, Naruto and Sasuke wouldn't really have a role to play.

Besides which, he already saved the world once.

The Sage's brother wouldn't necessarily be too OP for the battlefield, since he was never the Juubi jinchuuriki, so he could help out.
