If Totsuka would be indeed not a chakra based weapon and it isnt connected to Itachis susano'o, it wouldn't appear and disappear along with it.
Itachi would need to carry it around by himself without susano'o. Did you ever saw Itachi running around with a huge spiritual weapon?

Itachi would need to carry it around by himself without susano'o. Did you ever saw Itachi running around with a huge spiritual weapon?

Susanoo is pure chakra, it can hold Amatersu without even burning itself.

Spiritual weapons may have this tie with chakra itself, but they don't hold the exact same properties.

I think anyone with yin release or yin yang release can do something about totsukya.

Since yin is the basic plains of spiritual energy
