I just used the square tool, made a square shape, colored the line black, and then made the opacity down until I could see through it nice. I forgot the percent though :/

OT:

They're decent for your first try. Some of the stocks you used seem like a resize + crop + border work, but that's alright. Try playing around with exposure, contrast and brightness, then move onto effects if you want.

Yeah, that's what I did, I did touch up on exposure and coloring a little though, but nothing too much.
