How do you get in the akatsuki

From what Yard used to say, you have to kill one of the existing members to get a spot. However you can also be asked to join but it isn't something that you have control over since they choose you not the other way around. It is an honor to get in because only the elite inhabit it's halls. I hope it stays that way forever.
