“Oh believe me Madara-dono I know full well of your capabilities,” Kabuto says to himself cynically. His connection with Madara is cut off as he watches his most powerful summon take down the Kage, “However I have a little more leverage than you might think.” Kabuto licks his lips. Kabuto fixes his glasses and a glare comes on them covering his eyes, “Well, well it's about time you returned...Itachi-san.”
Itachi appears behind Kabuto in the bone yard outside. “I've come to put an end Edo Tensai.” Itachi says.
“Hmm, I can't let you do that I'm afraid, I still have a few loose ends to take care of.” Kabuto says mockingly, “Besides, there's no way for you to stop this technique, not even killing me will work! This is the perfect technique!!” Kabuto laughs hysterically.
“Every technique has a weakness and I just so happen to be that weakness for Edo Tensai.” Itachi loosens the buttons on his robe and looks at Kabuto with his Sharingan.
Kabuto extends his long tong and licks his lips, “We shall see, Itachi-san.” Kabuto extends his hands outwards extending several white snakes from the sleeves of his robe. The snakes travel and they increase in size in what seems like a blur. In a mere instant, Itachi's chakra aura flows around him and the skeleton of his Susanoo appears grabbing the snakes with its left hand and drawing the Sword of Totsuka with its right. Susanoo swings the blade towards Kabuto at an amazing speed and his robe is cut in two. Two white snakes are revealed to be in place of Kabuto. Both snakes are diced in half and the hood slowly falls to the ground.
Itachi squints his eyes and shifts them to the right. Susanoo swings its blade to the right as a white blur slithers quickly and agilely on the ground towards the inside of the hideout. The white object separates into two pieces and they move around the blade before converging back into one entity. The slithering entity enters the cave and Itachi quickly follows suit. Itachi enters a dark cavern with stalagmites throughout the cave, “tsk, tsk, Itachi-san, I would've thought somebody with your abilities would've been smarter than this,” Kabuto's voice echos throughout the cavern, yet he remains hidden from Itachi's sight. “To allow your opponent to lead you into his territory of advantage and to lose sight of them as well.”
Itachi says nothing as he scorers the area with his Sharingan. Itachi notices several signatures of chakra all of which belonging to Kabuto, yet they lay as if they're only shells coated in chakra. Hidden in location, Kabuto smirks and makes the bird seal. A small short tremor activated by Kabuto's chakra is caught immediately by Itachi and he leaps up as several earthen spikes shoot up from around him from all directions on the ground. The spikes interlock as they miss their target. A shadow appears above Itachi and he looks up to see Kabuto standing atop the ceiling above him, the snake emerging from his abdomen launching itself towards Itachi with a wide gaping mouth. Itachi quickly re-establishes Susanoo creating the torso and upper body which shields him from the snake. Kabuto then licks his lip as he makes the tiger seal and places his hand downwards. “Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique).” Kabuto summons several large snakes that all fall and wrap themselves around Itachi's Susanoo and constrict its movements as he descends to the ground. Itachi closes his eyes slowly and opens them quickly after a brief moment. The veins on his eyes stress out more as his Susanoo begins to transform, adding tissue and muscle to its structure. Itachi's Susanoo becomes complete and the giant humanoid entity forcibly rips the snakes off its body. From the ceiling, Kabuto makes another seal and just as he lands, a large white snake bursts through the ground and wraps up around Itachi and begins constricting him.
“I see you found the weak point to my Susanoo...” Itachi says.
Kabuto drops down a few meters away from Itachi in front of him and smiles, “I've done my research Itachi-san. Having Madara at my disposal is pretty useful in figuring out how you gifted Uchiha use your Mangekyou.”
“Madara?” Itachi says with confusion, which is visible in his eyes.
“Ku kuku, I forgot, you were unaware of the charade Tobi put on to deceive you,” Kabuto begins, “Don't take it the wrong way, your abilities are top notch but they're not strong enough to see through the deception of two masterminds such as Tobi and Madara.”
“So...Tobi wasn't Madara after all. You've been controlling the real one with your technique.” Itachi says. Itachi closes his eyes and smiles causing Kabuto to lose his own grin. Suddenly Kabuto finds himself restricted, being squeezed by an incredible force. Itachi vanishes before Kabuto's eyes just as a large arm appears wrapped around him. “Than I was right.”
Kabuto turns around and notices Itachi standing behind him and he widens his eyes in shock for a brief moment before realizing what happened, “Genjutsu.” Kabuto says plainly, “Those eyes of yours really are a nuisance.”
“You expressed your disappointment for me allowing you to lure me in here. You underestimated me with such a weak tactic while also thinking I would blindly oblige to your whim.” Itachi said.
Kabuto smirks, “and yet, you've still come into my vantage area.” Kabuto begins to liquify and slip through the fingers of Susanoo.
Itachi squints his eyes, “That technique...”
“Is only the tip of the iceberg Itachi-san,” Kabuto say as his jaw opens wide and hands begin to emerge from it. Kabuto begins to emerge out of the mouth of the skin he sheds, his form altered being. His entire body is scaled and his eyes resemble those of a snake and he dons two short horns atop his head.
Itachi squints his eyes intensely as he notices the new form of Kabuto, “So I see you've succeed where Orochimaru failed,” Itachi says as Kabuto extends his tong, “You've become a sage.”
“Oh no, I'm much more than that, and with this power and my Edo Tensai, I'm untouchable.” Kabuto smirks.
“You're playing with too big of a fire Kabuto, you shouldn't underestimate Madara.” Itachi says.
“Oh believe me Itachi-san, I have everything under control,” Kabuto's eyes become hidden over a layer of dark lids, “Well almost everything that is.”
Itachi makes the tiger seal while looking at Kabuto, “Your own delusions will be your downfall.”
“We'll see Itachi-san!” Kabuto makes the bird hand seal and the snake emerging from his his naval recedes into his stomach.
Itachi opens his eyes wider to look upon Kabuto with the Sharingan while quickly taking out several shuriken. Making a single seal, Itachi spews a large mass of fire onto the shuriken as they head towards Kabuto, “Katon: Hosenka Tsumabeni (Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Crimson Nail)!”
The shuriken spiral quickly from several angles towards Kabuto just as a large blob begins to emerge from his stomach. A doppelganger resembling Jirobo is revealed to take place from Kabuto's stomach and it makes the snake seal. A large wall of earth springs up before Kabuto in his defense against the shuriken. The blazing shuriken make impact with the wall of earth but don't penetrate. A brief moment after impact, the wall shatters as several bones appear and travel towards Itachi. Itachi looks at Kabuto as the bone come towards him and notices that the figure coming out of his stomach is now in the form of Kimimaro. Itachi jumps up to avoid the bones rushing towards him and Kabuto makes the Ox seal. Just then, the stalagmites at the top of cave begin to enlarge and extend. Itachi opens his eyes wider, his Mangekyou Sharingan appearing and his Susanoo holds it's arms above the head and blocks the stalagmites. Itachi is pushed down and he lands on the ground where more of the caves stalagmites begin to erupt towards him. Itachi focuses on his right Sharingan eye as it begins to bleed. The black flames of Amaterasu suddenly appear on the animated earth sections and they begin to slow in movement.
“You fool yourself with this power Kabuto,” Itachi begins, looking at the transformed shinobi, “You take from others in an attempt to find yourself, you denounce your fate.”
“How little you know of the circumstances of my current being.”
“We are the same, which is why I can tell exactly how this is going to end. I will make you accept your fate and end Edo Tensai with my technique.” Susanoo uses Yasaka Magatama and creates a shuriken type projectile its left hand while holding the Sword of Totsuka in his right. Itachi has Susanoo launch the projectile quickly. Kabuto unhinges his jaw wide and sheds his skin from the mouth. Kabuto is reverted into a large snake from the waist down which slithers upwards towards the upper section of the cave and avoids the projectile. As he slithers Kabuto notices the sword of Totsuka coming towards him. Kabuto barely notices the blade in time and he quickly separates the upper half of his body from the lower snake half just as the sword makes impact, leaving it to impact in the gap where Kabuto separated his body. Kabuto's body goes back to normal as he stands atop the ceiling of the cave. A split second later Kabuto notices Itachi in the air right before him swinging a kunai. Kabuto moves to the left and avoids Itachi's strike and follows up quickly, using his chakra scalpel in both hands, to cut through Itachi. Itachi's body manifests into several crows as Kabuto's technique cuts through him and Kabuto immediately realizes the clone used by Itachi. The real Itachi approaches from behind, and his right eye begins to bleed as he creates Amaterasu from Kabuto's blind spot.
Kabuto is caught in the flames however he sheds his skin again and all that is burned is the dead flesh. “I'm tired of this game Itachi-san.” Kabuto says making a hand seal. The doppelganger of Kimimaro re-appears and greats a flute like entity using his bone. Tayuya then comes out of Kabuto's naval, splitting from Kimimaro and she begins to play the flute. The sound produced immediately captures Itachi inside a genjutsu where several snakes appears and constrict his movements. “We end our little game here...Itachi-san.” Kabuto says plainly.
“No...” Itachi's eyes pulse and the snakes begin to disappear. Suddenly a large web is seen by Itachi and it makes contact with Susanoo. Susanoo is caught in the thick golden web, however it manages to get to the sword of Totsuka before it's completely immobilized. It goes to swing the sword however it finally succumbs to the web's adhesion and it can't move. Kabuto then spews out a large amount of sticky gold and creates a long bow and an arrow. Kabuto pulls back the arrow with and launches it straight towards Itachi. Itachi calls forth the Yata Mirror in defense and Kabuto smiles. The arrow effortlessly pierces through the shield and hits Itachi through the right shoulder. “But how?!”
“As legendary and powerful as your weapons may be, my Senjutsu grants far more than you can conceive. Not even the power of the Mangekyou Sharingan can compete with the powers of a true Sage.” Itachi's body begins to reconfigure from the blow received from the arrow, and Kabuto goes to make another seal, “Once you're out of the way there will be nothing standing in mine!”
Kabuto makes his seal, however Itachi opens his mouth and suddenly several crows begin to exit his mouth and flock towards Kabuto. The crows let lose a foul cry which makes Kabuto's head begins to go blurry. His sensory abilities become blurred by the calls of the crows and he's completely blinded of his sense. Kabuto releases the brille on his eyes and his eye sight returns.
As his eye sight returns, Kabuto sees his the crows begin to vanish and a large shuriken like object hurtling towards him. He reverts into his snake move and slithers across the field. Itachi's Susanoo breaks through the web created by Kabuto and grabs its sword. The large humanoid chakra manifestation stabs the blade towards Kabuto and Kabuto splits his body in two again. Itachi appears before Kabuto again and he ducks and uses his chakra scalpel to cut through Itachi once more. It's revealed to be another clone made of crows, “Again with the same tricks?” Expecting for Itachi to come from behind, he begins to shed his skin again and the flames emerge on him.
“No, there's something added to this 'trick'” Itachi says. Kabuto lands and he sees another shuriken made from the Susanoo heading towards him, he slithers away like before only to find the sword of Totsuka coming at him at blinding speeds. He splits himself again and then sees Itachi before him, swinging a kunai.
*What the hell?!* Kabuto's thinks to himself as he cuts through Itachi with his chakra scalpel yet again. Itachi disperses into a batch of crows again and Kabuto sheds his skin as Amaterasu begins to ignite *This has already happened!* As Kabuto emerges in his new skin the same events unfold; the Yatsaka shuriken, followed by the Sword of Totsuka and Itachi appearing before him. The evasion of the shuriken and striking through the crow clone and shedding his skin as Amaterasu ignites. *It's all the same, every time!* “What the hell is this?!”
“Izanami...” Itachi says. In the real world, Kabuto stands motionless within the genjutsu Izanami while Itachi comes before him. “This technique...one of the forbidden dojutsu techniques of the Uchiha, sibling to Izanagi.” Kabuto begins. “While Izanagi defies and allows for you to change fate, Izanami forces you to accept your fate or else remain trapped in an endless cycle of repetition as punishment until you finally accept your fate.” Itachi's right eye is completely absent of light, being completely blinded.
“Then what about you Itachi,” A voice says from within the cave. Itachi turns and sees a figure walking through the shadows from deep within the cave. Sasuke emerges from the shadows unwrapping the bandages around his eyes revealing his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, “Have you accepted your fate?”
“Sasuke...” Itachi goes to place his hand on Kabuto, “This isn't the best time for us to speak, I have something important to take care of first.”
“NO!” Sasuke shouts in anger, “You're always telling me another time but I'm not going to wait anymore!” Sasuke says with demand. Sasuke's eyes widen and his Sharingan flares.
“You know you really do owe him an explanation Itachi-san.” Itachi's eyes widen as he looks upon Kabuto speaking. Kabuto grabs Itachi's hand with lightning fast quickness and he begins to wrap around him like a snake, however a large black hand grabs Kabuto before he manages to wrap himself fully around Itachi and squeezes him. Sasuke's Susanoo saves Itachi, however Kabuto simply uses Suigetsu's liquefaction ability and slips through Susanoo. He makes some distance between Itachi and Sasuke and he smiles.
“How...how did you break out of Izanami?!” Itachi says with shock.
“Kukuuku, I've been preparing for that technique of yours from the moment you came here Itachi-san. I was curious to see the affects of second half of the Uchiha's Forbidden techniques. It was quite thrilling to witness the affects first hand.” Just then Kabuto detaches the extension coming from his naval. The white blob begins to form and takes the rough shape of Kabuto, who appears as if he's in a trance. “Souma no Kou (Attack of the Twin Demons)” Kabuto utters as he glances down towards the manifested clone of his below.
Itachi's eyes widen in shock for a brief moment in shock however he goes back to his normal expression quickly. “So that was never a clone or shape shifting technique.” Itachi says in realization.
“My, you seem to catch on quickly,” Kabuto says, “But that's correct, that was another living human that proved to be compatible with my DNA. Sakon and Ukon truly were a unique pair to have such a rare ability.”
“What the hell is going on?!” Sasuke asks, reminding the others of his presence.
“Kabuto used infused himself with the blood of the Demon Twins, Sakon and Ukon granting him their genetic ability. That thing on the ground is the person Kabuto integrated into his own body to allow him to use that ability...and from my guess the abilities of the other shinobi you've stolen DNA from as well.” Kabuto doesn't say anything as Itachi explains, he simply grins. “But what I don't understand is how that managed to get past my Sharingan. How you managed to deceive my eyes and avoid Izanami.”
“It's quite simple actually, you see I've created my own kekkei genkai. I owe it to the research of one of Orochimaru-sama's more...useful colleague’s Hiruko.”
Itachi squints his eyes, “Hiruko of the Chimera Technique.”
“Precisely,” Kabuto begins, “Hiruko, the shinobi who created the Chimera Technique to compensate for lacking in natural abilities. He found a way to create a technique that allowed for him to integrate the bodies of truly gifted shinobi into his own and gain their abilities. Orochimaru-sama was interested in this concept in his quest for immortality and mastering every ninjutsu. Hiruko was truly an engenius shinobi and he may as well have succeeded had it not been for his conflict in gaining the Sharingan.”
“The Sharingan?” Sasuke says confused.
“Hiruko gathered four of the strongest kekkei genkai from the Great Nations, Swift Release from Sunagakure's Iga clan, Steel Release from Iwagakure, Dark Release from Kirigakure, and Storm Release from Kumogakure. To complete his set, he searched for the dojutsu which would allow him to unify all of those elements for a result that would've been catastrophic had he succeeded.” Itachi begins, “He attempted to gain the ability through Kakashi since all the other Uchiha were...”
“Danzo's reasons for your assassination of the Uchihas was much more than preventing civil war Itachi, though it was on def ears as Hiruko made precautions to take the ability from the only person he would be sure to outlast any such eradication.” Kabuto says.
“How could he possibly know about the Uchiha assassination, years before I was even...No.” Itachi clinches his fist.
“Danzo was full and ready to go along with his scheme long before you Itachi-san, though there were complications that prevented that at the time. Steadily waiting for the seeds of distrust to arise and become stronger, Danzo simply let things play as they did, until the moment came. It was rather risky but effective nonetheless.”
“Damn it.”
“Anyway, back to the story at hand, Hiruko's research along with Orochimaru's help was moving rather well until Orochimaru began to fear the extent of Hiruko's ambitions. Orochimaru betrayed Hiruko and subtly revealed the taboo they were constructing, however masking his own involvement. Orochimaru only retained small portions of the research and tried to continue on his own but to no avail. However I've managed to create a rather significant substitute. Incorporating the bodies of others into my own was not possible however I found a way to infuse their chakra into my own and re-create the abilities. Though to a much weaker extent than the Chimera Technique, the addition of my Sage Chakra compensates for that. Their chakra and my chakra are one!” Kabuto explains, “In other words you have no way of reading me with those eyes of yours Itachi! The Sharingan's abilities are powerless against my own!”
“Damn you, you destroyed another's life to save yourself...however you made the mistake of relinquishing the skills you desperately tried to incorporate into yourself.”
“Wrong!” Kabuto makes a quick hand seal and spews a large dragon from his mouth which carries a black ball. The dragon begins to curve inwards on the ball and a large blinding light illuminates the entire cave as well as a bone rattling sound. Sasuke and Itachi grab their heads in searing pain as the noise vibrates their entire body violently, paralyzing them. Kabuto launches himself towards Sasuke, unhinging his jaw wide. Suddenly a large hand appears between Kabuto and Sasuke. Kabuto stops as and goes to make another seal. However, an arrow catches Kabuto straight through the shoulder and pins him down. The light dissipates and Sasuke's Susanoo appears holding a cross bow made of chakra. Kabuto rises, with the arrow still through his shoulder, however his shoulder liquifies partially so the arrow drops out and his wound begins to heal. Another hand grabs Kabuto and restrains him and is revealed to be that of Itachi's Susanoo.
“If I can't use Izanami I'll simply use Tsukuyomi to end this!” Itachi says.
“Is that...a fact now?” Kabuto says struggling to breath. “Don't you have somethings to explain...to Sasuke-kun?”
Itachi turns his glance to his younger brother who looks back at him seriously. “Sasuke, I know Tobi must have told you everything...everything about the situation with the massacre.”
“Why, did you sacrifice everything for the village?!” Sasuke asks angrily, “Why did you put yourself through that hell only for everybody to turn their backs on you?!”
“I love Konoha and I still do...I did what I thought was right for the sake of the village and our clan.”
“Our clan has been suppressed by Konoha since its creation! You say you did what you did for our clan as well?!”
“I wanted you...to restore the image of the Uchihas by slaying me, I wanted you to be the hero that brought back honor to our clan and create our clan again in the hopes that we could finally achieve peace...and I still want that to be the case Sasuke.”
“You honestly think that I'm going to return to that village?” Sasuke says with a dumbfounded snicker, “After what they made you do?!”
“Sasuke...there was no way that I could ever kill you, even now. You're my little brother, and I still love you regardless of what your decision is.” Itachi begins, “But I beg you...to make things right and return to Konoha.”
“Sasuke...I know Tobi told you of the power you possess as the heir to the Uchiha clan.” Kabuto begins. Itachi's eyes intensify and the grip on Susanoo tightens around Kabuto, “The power of the Eldest Brother...If Edo Tensai is lost, you'll never unlock that power...that power is something only Madara can unlock...the only power that can allow you to achieve your goals of destroying Konoha and re-creating your clan.”
“Tsukuyomi!” brings himself to Kabuto's exposed eyes and casts him under Tsukuyomi.
Kabuto begins to fall into the trance, “Choose...you're path Sasuke...”
Itachi closes his eyes for a brief moment and then begins to turn his head to his younger brother, “Sasuke I—” Before Itachi can speak he's shot through the chest with a chakra arrow from Sasuke's Susanoo. Itachi slowly opens his eyes but his expression is not surprised, “Sasuke...”
Sasuke stands with his side facing Itachi, “Itachi...I understand what you've died for, but...” Sasuke pauses and turns towards his brother, looking him in the eyes, with intense fury directed towards Konoha, “I cannot accept the path you set for me!”
The resulting blow from Sasuke's arrow causes Itachi's Susanoo to release the Kabuto and Sasuke heads over to Kabuto, “I see you didn't disappoint Sasuke.” Kabuto says slowly rising from the ground.
“How did you break away from the genjutsu?” Sasuke asks unphased.
“Though the perception of time is distorted in Itachi's illusion, it worked to my advantage to steadily gather nature energy to force out the chakra that caused the illusion. Sage chakra is a very potent source of energy.” Kabuto struggles slightly to get up still, “Though it's a way to defeat even that genjutsu, the affects still take its tole every second.”
“So I take it you weren't going to risk my chance choice, you just wanted me to stall him for a moment.”
“That's partially true, however I was really intrigued to see if you were truly an avenger and to little surprise you proved to be exactly who you said you were.” Kabuto makes the tiger hand seal as Itachi lay on the ground attempting to regenerate from Sasuke's attack. Just then a giant snake burst through the ground beneath Itachi and engulfs him. Just before Itachi is eaten by the snake, a tear falls down his face as he looks Sasuke in the eyes while being sealed away. “Ahhh, such a cold look to give your brother for his final appearance Sasuke-kun.” The snake slithers to Kabuto gradually getting smaller and smaller until it becomes a regular sized white snake with a long seal running down it's body. The snake slithers up into Kabuto's mouth and into his stomach where he stores the sealed Itachi. “Now Sasuke-kun, don't you want to try out those new eyes of yours first hand? I believe Naruto—”
“No,” Sasuke cuts off Kabuto and turns his back. Sasuke begins walking back into the cave where he came from, “I'll test out my eyes once I meet Madara and gain the powers I need to annihilate Konoha.” Sasuke walks into the shadows and eventually disappears.
“Suite yourself, then...” Kabuto heads his own way out into the sunlight. The sunlight shines down on Kabuto's victory while the cavern's darkness looms over the events that just transpired of Itachi's defeat.

Itachi quickly re-establishes Susanoo creating the torso and upper body which shields him from the snake. Kabuto then licks his lip as he makes the tiger seal and places his hand downwards. “Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique).” Kabuto summons several large snakes that all fall and wrap themselves around Itachi's Susanoo and constrict its movements as he descends to the ground. Itachi closes his eyes slowly and opens them quickly after a brief moment. The veins on his eyes stress out more as his Susanoo begins to transform, adding tissue and muscle to its structure. Itachi's Susanoo becomes complete and the giant humanoid entity forcibly rips the snakes off its body. From the ceiling, Kabuto makes another seal and just as he lands, a large white snake bursts through the ground and wraps up around Itachi and begins constricting him.
“I see you found the weak point to my Susanoo...” Itachi says.
Kabuto drops down a few meters away from Itachi in front of him and smiles, “I've done my research Itachi-san. Having Madara at my disposal is pretty useful in figuring out how you gifted Uchiha use your Mangekyou.”
“Madara?” Itachi says with confusion, which is visible in his eyes.
“Ku kuku, I forgot, you were unaware of the charade Tobi put on to deceive you,” Kabuto begins, “Don't take it the wrong way, your abilities are top notch but they're not strong enough to see through the deception of two masterminds such as Tobi and Madara.”
“So...Tobi wasn't Madara after all. You've been controlling the real one with your technique.” Itachi says. Itachi closes his eyes and smiles causing Kabuto to lose his own grin. Suddenly Kabuto finds himself restricted, being squeezed by an incredible force. Itachi vanishes before Kabuto's eyes just as a large arm appears wrapped around him. “Than I was right.”
Kabuto turns around and notices Itachi standing behind him and he widens his eyes in shock for a brief moment before realizing what happened, “Genjutsu.” Kabuto says plainly, “Those eyes of yours really are a nuisance.”
“You expressed your disappointment for me allowing you to lure me in here. You underestimated me with such a weak tactic while also thinking I would blindly oblige to your whim.” Itachi said.
Kabuto smirks, “and yet, you've still come into my vantage area.” Kabuto begins to liquify and slip through the fingers of Susanoo.
Itachi squints his eyes, “That technique...”
“Is only the tip of the iceberg Itachi-san,” Kabuto say as his jaw opens wide and hands begin to emerge from it. Kabuto begins to emerge out of the mouth of the skin he sheds, his form altered being. His entire body is scaled and his eyes resemble those of a snake and he dons two short horns atop his head.
Itachi squints his eyes intensely as he notices the new form of Kabuto, “So I see you've succeed where Orochimaru failed,” Itachi says as Kabuto extends his tong, “You've become a sage.”
“Oh no, I'm much more than that, and with this power and my Edo Tensai, I'm untouchable.” Kabuto smirks.
“You're playing with too big of a fire Kabuto, you shouldn't underestimate Madara.” Itachi says.
“Oh believe me Itachi-san, I have everything under control,” Kabuto's eyes become hidden over a layer of dark lids, “Well almost everything that is.”
Itachi makes the tiger seal while looking at Kabuto, “Your own delusions will be your downfall.”
“We'll see Itachi-san!” Kabuto makes the bird hand seal and the snake emerging from his his naval recedes into his stomach.
Itachi opens his eyes wider to look upon Kabuto with the Sharingan while quickly taking out several shuriken. Making a single seal, Itachi spews a large mass of fire onto the shuriken as they head towards Kabuto, “Katon: Hosenka Tsumabeni (Fire Release: Phoenix Sage Flower Crimson Nail)!”
The shuriken spiral quickly from several angles towards Kabuto just as a large blob begins to emerge from his stomach. A doppelganger resembling Jirobo is revealed to take place from Kabuto's stomach and it makes the snake seal. A large wall of earth springs up before Kabuto in his defense against the shuriken. The blazing shuriken make impact with the wall of earth but don't penetrate. A brief moment after impact, the wall shatters as several bones appear and travel towards Itachi. Itachi looks at Kabuto as the bone come towards him and notices that the figure coming out of his stomach is now in the form of Kimimaro. Itachi jumps up to avoid the bones rushing towards him and Kabuto makes the Ox seal. Just then, the stalagmites at the top of cave begin to enlarge and extend. Itachi opens his eyes wider, his Mangekyou Sharingan appearing and his Susanoo holds it's arms above the head and blocks the stalagmites. Itachi is pushed down and he lands on the ground where more of the caves stalagmites begin to erupt towards him. Itachi focuses on his right Sharingan eye as it begins to bleed. The black flames of Amaterasu suddenly appear on the animated earth sections and they begin to slow in movement.
“You fool yourself with this power Kabuto,” Itachi begins, looking at the transformed shinobi, “You take from others in an attempt to find yourself, you denounce your fate.”
“How little you know of the circumstances of my current being.”
“We are the same, which is why I can tell exactly how this is going to end. I will make you accept your fate and end Edo Tensai with my technique.” Susanoo uses Yasaka Magatama and creates a shuriken type projectile its left hand while holding the Sword of Totsuka in his right. Itachi has Susanoo launch the projectile quickly. Kabuto unhinges his jaw wide and sheds his skin from the mouth. Kabuto is reverted into a large snake from the waist down which slithers upwards towards the upper section of the cave and avoids the projectile. As he slithers Kabuto notices the sword of Totsuka coming towards him. Kabuto barely notices the blade in time and he quickly separates the upper half of his body from the lower snake half just as the sword makes impact, leaving it to impact in the gap where Kabuto separated his body. Kabuto's body goes back to normal as he stands atop the ceiling of the cave. A split second later Kabuto notices Itachi in the air right before him swinging a kunai. Kabuto moves to the left and avoids Itachi's strike and follows up quickly, using his chakra scalpel in both hands, to cut through Itachi. Itachi's body manifests into several crows as Kabuto's technique cuts through him and Kabuto immediately realizes the clone used by Itachi. The real Itachi approaches from behind, and his right eye begins to bleed as he creates Amaterasu from Kabuto's blind spot.
Kabuto is caught in the flames however he sheds his skin again and all that is burned is the dead flesh. “I'm tired of this game Itachi-san.” Kabuto says making a hand seal. The doppelganger of Kimimaro re-appears and greats a flute like entity using his bone. Tayuya then comes out of Kabuto's naval, splitting from Kimimaro and she begins to play the flute. The sound produced immediately captures Itachi inside a genjutsu where several snakes appears and constrict his movements. “We end our little game here...Itachi-san.” Kabuto says plainly.
“No...” Itachi's eyes pulse and the snakes begin to disappear. Suddenly a large web is seen by Itachi and it makes contact with Susanoo. Susanoo is caught in the thick golden web, however it manages to get to the sword of Totsuka before it's completely immobilized. It goes to swing the sword however it finally succumbs to the web's adhesion and it can't move. Kabuto then spews out a large amount of sticky gold and creates a long bow and an arrow. Kabuto pulls back the arrow with and launches it straight towards Itachi. Itachi calls forth the Yata Mirror in defense and Kabuto smiles. The arrow effortlessly pierces through the shield and hits Itachi through the right shoulder. “But how?!”
“As legendary and powerful as your weapons may be, my Senjutsu grants far more than you can conceive. Not even the power of the Mangekyou Sharingan can compete with the powers of a true Sage.” Itachi's body begins to reconfigure from the blow received from the arrow, and Kabuto goes to make another seal, “Once you're out of the way there will be nothing standing in mine!”
Kabuto makes his seal, however Itachi opens his mouth and suddenly several crows begin to exit his mouth and flock towards Kabuto. The crows let lose a foul cry which makes Kabuto's head begins to go blurry. His sensory abilities become blurred by the calls of the crows and he's completely blinded of his sense. Kabuto releases the brille on his eyes and his eye sight returns.

As his eye sight returns, Kabuto sees his the crows begin to vanish and a large shuriken like object hurtling towards him. He reverts into his snake move and slithers across the field. Itachi's Susanoo breaks through the web created by Kabuto and grabs its sword. The large humanoid chakra manifestation stabs the blade towards Kabuto and Kabuto splits his body in two again. Itachi appears before Kabuto again and he ducks and uses his chakra scalpel to cut through Itachi once more. It's revealed to be another clone made of crows, “Again with the same tricks?” Expecting for Itachi to come from behind, he begins to shed his skin again and the flames emerge on him.
“No, there's something added to this 'trick'” Itachi says. Kabuto lands and he sees another shuriken made from the Susanoo heading towards him, he slithers away like before only to find the sword of Totsuka coming at him at blinding speeds. He splits himself again and then sees Itachi before him, swinging a kunai.
*What the hell?!* Kabuto's thinks to himself as he cuts through Itachi with his chakra scalpel yet again. Itachi disperses into a batch of crows again and Kabuto sheds his skin as Amaterasu begins to ignite *This has already happened!* As Kabuto emerges in his new skin the same events unfold; the Yatsaka shuriken, followed by the Sword of Totsuka and Itachi appearing before him. The evasion of the shuriken and striking through the crow clone and shedding his skin as Amaterasu ignites. *It's all the same, every time!* “What the hell is this?!”
“Izanami...” Itachi says. In the real world, Kabuto stands motionless within the genjutsu Izanami while Itachi comes before him. “This technique...one of the forbidden dojutsu techniques of the Uchiha, sibling to Izanagi.” Kabuto begins. “While Izanagi defies and allows for you to change fate, Izanami forces you to accept your fate or else remain trapped in an endless cycle of repetition as punishment until you finally accept your fate.” Itachi's right eye is completely absent of light, being completely blinded.
“Then what about you Itachi,” A voice says from within the cave. Itachi turns and sees a figure walking through the shadows from deep within the cave. Sasuke emerges from the shadows unwrapping the bandages around his eyes revealing his Eternal Mangekyou Sharingan, “Have you accepted your fate?”
“Sasuke...” Itachi goes to place his hand on Kabuto, “This isn't the best time for us to speak, I have something important to take care of first.”
“NO!” Sasuke shouts in anger, “You're always telling me another time but I'm not going to wait anymore!” Sasuke says with demand. Sasuke's eyes widen and his Sharingan flares.
“You know you really do owe him an explanation Itachi-san.” Itachi's eyes widen as he looks upon Kabuto speaking. Kabuto grabs Itachi's hand with lightning fast quickness and he begins to wrap around him like a snake, however a large black hand grabs Kabuto before he manages to wrap himself fully around Itachi and squeezes him. Sasuke's Susanoo saves Itachi, however Kabuto simply uses Suigetsu's liquefaction ability and slips through Susanoo. He makes some distance between Itachi and Sasuke and he smiles.
“How...how did you break out of Izanami?!” Itachi says with shock.
“Kukuuku, I've been preparing for that technique of yours from the moment you came here Itachi-san. I was curious to see the affects of second half of the Uchiha's Forbidden techniques. It was quite thrilling to witness the affects first hand.” Just then Kabuto detaches the extension coming from his naval. The white blob begins to form and takes the rough shape of Kabuto, who appears as if he's in a trance. “Souma no Kou (Attack of the Twin Demons)” Kabuto utters as he glances down towards the manifested clone of his below.
Itachi's eyes widen in shock for a brief moment in shock however he goes back to his normal expression quickly. “So that was never a clone or shape shifting technique.” Itachi says in realization.
“My, you seem to catch on quickly,” Kabuto says, “But that's correct, that was another living human that proved to be compatible with my DNA. Sakon and Ukon truly were a unique pair to have such a rare ability.”
“What the hell is going on?!” Sasuke asks, reminding the others of his presence.
“Kabuto used infused himself with the blood of the Demon Twins, Sakon and Ukon granting him their genetic ability. That thing on the ground is the person Kabuto integrated into his own body to allow him to use that ability...and from my guess the abilities of the other shinobi you've stolen DNA from as well.” Kabuto doesn't say anything as Itachi explains, he simply grins. “But what I don't understand is how that managed to get past my Sharingan. How you managed to deceive my eyes and avoid Izanami.”
“It's quite simple actually, you see I've created my own kekkei genkai. I owe it to the research of one of Orochimaru-sama's more...useful colleague’s Hiruko.”
Itachi squints his eyes, “Hiruko of the Chimera Technique.”
“Precisely,” Kabuto begins, “Hiruko, the shinobi who created the Chimera Technique to compensate for lacking in natural abilities. He found a way to create a technique that allowed for him to integrate the bodies of truly gifted shinobi into his own and gain their abilities. Orochimaru-sama was interested in this concept in his quest for immortality and mastering every ninjutsu. Hiruko was truly an engenius shinobi and he may as well have succeeded had it not been for his conflict in gaining the Sharingan.”
“The Sharingan?” Sasuke says confused.
“Hiruko gathered four of the strongest kekkei genkai from the Great Nations, Swift Release from Sunagakure's Iga clan, Steel Release from Iwagakure, Dark Release from Kirigakure, and Storm Release from Kumogakure. To complete his set, he searched for the dojutsu which would allow him to unify all of those elements for a result that would've been catastrophic had he succeeded.” Itachi begins, “He attempted to gain the ability through Kakashi since all the other Uchiha were...”
“Danzo's reasons for your assassination of the Uchihas was much more than preventing civil war Itachi, though it was on def ears as Hiruko made precautions to take the ability from the only person he would be sure to outlast any such eradication.” Kabuto says.
“How could he possibly know about the Uchiha assassination, years before I was even...No.” Itachi clinches his fist.
“Danzo was full and ready to go along with his scheme long before you Itachi-san, though there were complications that prevented that at the time. Steadily waiting for the seeds of distrust to arise and become stronger, Danzo simply let things play as they did, until the moment came. It was rather risky but effective nonetheless.”
“Damn it.”
“Anyway, back to the story at hand, Hiruko's research along with Orochimaru's help was moving rather well until Orochimaru began to fear the extent of Hiruko's ambitions. Orochimaru betrayed Hiruko and subtly revealed the taboo they were constructing, however masking his own involvement. Orochimaru only retained small portions of the research and tried to continue on his own but to no avail. However I've managed to create a rather significant substitute. Incorporating the bodies of others into my own was not possible however I found a way to infuse their chakra into my own and re-create the abilities. Though to a much weaker extent than the Chimera Technique, the addition of my Sage Chakra compensates for that. Their chakra and my chakra are one!” Kabuto explains, “In other words you have no way of reading me with those eyes of yours Itachi! The Sharingan's abilities are powerless against my own!”
“Damn you, you destroyed another's life to save yourself...however you made the mistake of relinquishing the skills you desperately tried to incorporate into yourself.”
“Wrong!” Kabuto makes a quick hand seal and spews a large dragon from his mouth which carries a black ball. The dragon begins to curve inwards on the ball and a large blinding light illuminates the entire cave as well as a bone rattling sound. Sasuke and Itachi grab their heads in searing pain as the noise vibrates their entire body violently, paralyzing them. Kabuto launches himself towards Sasuke, unhinging his jaw wide. Suddenly a large hand appears between Kabuto and Sasuke. Kabuto stops as and goes to make another seal. However, an arrow catches Kabuto straight through the shoulder and pins him down. The light dissipates and Sasuke's Susanoo appears holding a cross bow made of chakra. Kabuto rises, with the arrow still through his shoulder, however his shoulder liquifies partially so the arrow drops out and his wound begins to heal. Another hand grabs Kabuto and restrains him and is revealed to be that of Itachi's Susanoo.
“If I can't use Izanami I'll simply use Tsukuyomi to end this!” Itachi says.
“Is that...a fact now?” Kabuto says struggling to breath. “Don't you have somethings to explain...to Sasuke-kun?”
Itachi turns his glance to his younger brother who looks back at him seriously. “Sasuke, I know Tobi must have told you everything...everything about the situation with the massacre.”
“Why, did you sacrifice everything for the village?!” Sasuke asks angrily, “Why did you put yourself through that hell only for everybody to turn their backs on you?!”
“I love Konoha and I still do...I did what I thought was right for the sake of the village and our clan.”
“Our clan has been suppressed by Konoha since its creation! You say you did what you did for our clan as well?!”
“I wanted you...to restore the image of the Uchihas by slaying me, I wanted you to be the hero that brought back honor to our clan and create our clan again in the hopes that we could finally achieve peace...and I still want that to be the case Sasuke.”
“You honestly think that I'm going to return to that village?” Sasuke says with a dumbfounded snicker, “After what they made you do?!”
“Sasuke...there was no way that I could ever kill you, even now. You're my little brother, and I still love you regardless of what your decision is.” Itachi begins, “But I beg you...to make things right and return to Konoha.”
“Sasuke...I know Tobi told you of the power you possess as the heir to the Uchiha clan.” Kabuto begins. Itachi's eyes intensify and the grip on Susanoo tightens around Kabuto, “The power of the Eldest Brother...If Edo Tensai is lost, you'll never unlock that power...that power is something only Madara can unlock...the only power that can allow you to achieve your goals of destroying Konoha and re-creating your clan.”
“Tsukuyomi!” brings himself to Kabuto's exposed eyes and casts him under Tsukuyomi.
Kabuto begins to fall into the trance, “Choose...you're path Sasuke...”
Itachi closes his eyes for a brief moment and then begins to turn his head to his younger brother, “Sasuke I—” Before Itachi can speak he's shot through the chest with a chakra arrow from Sasuke's Susanoo. Itachi slowly opens his eyes but his expression is not surprised, “Sasuke...”
Sasuke stands with his side facing Itachi, “Itachi...I understand what you've died for, but...” Sasuke pauses and turns towards his brother, looking him in the eyes, with intense fury directed towards Konoha, “I cannot accept the path you set for me!”
The resulting blow from Sasuke's arrow causes Itachi's Susanoo to release the Kabuto and Sasuke heads over to Kabuto, “I see you didn't disappoint Sasuke.” Kabuto says slowly rising from the ground.
“How did you break away from the genjutsu?” Sasuke asks unphased.
“Though the perception of time is distorted in Itachi's illusion, it worked to my advantage to steadily gather nature energy to force out the chakra that caused the illusion. Sage chakra is a very potent source of energy.” Kabuto struggles slightly to get up still, “Though it's a way to defeat even that genjutsu, the affects still take its tole every second.”
“So I take it you weren't going to risk my chance choice, you just wanted me to stall him for a moment.”
“That's partially true, however I was really intrigued to see if you were truly an avenger and to little surprise you proved to be exactly who you said you were.” Kabuto makes the tiger hand seal as Itachi lay on the ground attempting to regenerate from Sasuke's attack. Just then a giant snake burst through the ground beneath Itachi and engulfs him. Just before Itachi is eaten by the snake, a tear falls down his face as he looks Sasuke in the eyes while being sealed away. “Ahhh, such a cold look to give your brother for his final appearance Sasuke-kun.” The snake slithers to Kabuto gradually getting smaller and smaller until it becomes a regular sized white snake with a long seal running down it's body. The snake slithers up into Kabuto's mouth and into his stomach where he stores the sealed Itachi. “Now Sasuke-kun, don't you want to try out those new eyes of yours first hand? I believe Naruto—”
“No,” Sasuke cuts off Kabuto and turns his back. Sasuke begins walking back into the cave where he came from, “I'll test out my eyes once I meet Madara and gain the powers I need to annihilate Konoha.” Sasuke walks into the shadows and eventually disappears.
“Suite yourself, then...” Kabuto heads his own way out into the sunlight. The sunlight shines down on Kabuto's victory while the cavern's darkness looms over the events that just transpired of Itachi's defeat.
