I have a theory on the details of the story of the sons.

My theory is that while the Younger Son did become a Jinchuriki it wasn't until the Sage's death, the Sage said that he chose one to be his successor, now what did he mean when he said he made Ashura his successor?

If Indra disagreed, why was he so outraged, and why did he attack his brother, Ashura basically became chief priest, its not like Indra couldn't go out and get others to follow him and build his own plan for peace.

UNLESS:

When he made Ashura his successor he gave him the Tailed Beasts and made him the Jinchuriki of the 9 tails or something like that.

It was noted that Indra believed that with power anything was possible, maybe it got to the point that he became obsessed. The Tailed Beasts are the ultimate source of power so he may have wanted them.

Now the Sage said Ashura bloomed before he died, but I don't see why that cloak can be his only ability, I think that he developed other abilities before getting it.

Naruto for example developed his own abilities before mastering Kurama's power, Naruto learned Sage Mode which Minato (a known genius) couldn't master and Orochimaru (another known genius) couldn't even achieve.

Maybe Ashura achieved something similar, I think that the form he took with the cloak was a culmination of his power and Kurama's, he was able to manipulate the 9 tails Cloak to what ever form he desired

Now as for the argument about the Sage not splitting the Tailed Beasts, I would like to point out that the Sons didn't fight until AFTER his death.

As for the Mito was the first Jinchuriki, I would like to point out that the only one who said this was Kushina and she doesn't know anything about the Sage or the sons.

As for the argument that the Kurama form Naruto is using is a result of him being the reincarnation of Ashura, I would like to point out that Minato could do it as well.

As for the argument that they are a manifestation of physical energy or life force, if that were true than how could he use the TBB when it was clearly stated that he didn't inherit power from his father.

Now as for Susanoo's origins, I think that when Ashura was choosen over Indra, Indra was so angry that he left, despite Ashura begging him not too.

Indra knew that as Ashura now had the Tailed Beasts he couldn't beat him, so he went and developed Perfect Susanoo to fight his brother with.

PS is established as being powerful enough to battle a Bijuu, something Madara stated.

I have presented my theory as well as my reasoning and counter arguments to the many issues around it.

What are your thoughts?

I still do not believe that Ashura was a jinchuuriki.

Here Kurama states that the nine bijuu "were sent to different places" or in the MS translation he says that the pieces were "scattered." This statement implies that the bijuu were not not sealed into Ashura after Hagoromo's death. Though the possibility of him befriending the bijuu later on and becoming a jin still is yet to be known.

Ashura: His cloak i believe is his own life force personified because the physical appearance of Chakra which is the direct copy of real being(Like Bijuu mode has Kurama's appearance) is humanoid, and the black balls might be compressed round shaped Chakra as Ashura's life force is very strong it is possible that it has become on par with that of the bijuu's.(I like the comparison between Ashura and Naruto because both of them are using Rasengan as their primary attack).

I believe that Naruto has yet to unlock his power to its fullest potential.

Remember when Naruto used KCM and when he was trying to make the rasengan he actually created the bijuudama, now i think that because the young son was the direct descendant of Sage it is highly possible that his Chakra pools were great enough to be on the level of a bijuu, and he is Hagoromo's Yang's representation which is works just fine with Naruto using the Kyuubi's Yang and the flame effects were excessive Yang chakra flowing outside his body. But i might be wrong.

His clothes (look carefully), his necklace (final stage of tomoes around the neck of Naruto in Kurama mode?) and the fact that he had a stick convinced me that he was the jinchuriki of multiple bijuus , perhaps not all but more than one.
With his power to bring people with him , Ashura brought some baby bijuus with him.

yet another grand possibility which could explain why the cloak which was erected by all the bijuu's combined is so small, but i think it is his own life force though i can be wrong.

I think his chakra cloak came from people's chakra behind Ashura through Ninshuu.
After all chakra came from the Juubi, so that's why he casts five bijuudamas.

Also that cloak looks like an Asura

How can you cast a bijuu dama without a bijuu? :D
He was a jin. I cant believe people say he wasnt.

There is another thing that Naruto can realate to with Ashura: both being Jinchuuriki.
So why not?

remember when naruto used KCM charkra and tried to make a rasengan, he created a bijuu bomb.
Bijuudama is all yin yang chakra in a 8:2 formation the most being yang, and Ashura had his father's yang or life force which could very well personify in that form, and the chakra shield is excessive yang chakra flowing outside the body which is almost always the repleica of the person(naruto in BM having kurama's chakra which looks identical to kurama) and for people that think naruto's UNIQUE Bijuu form is because of Ashura they are dead wrong because the reason why naruto has that unique form is either kurama is unique or either the uzumaki seal is special, Minato is an absolute prove beacuse he as his son could use both KCM and bijuu mode with kurama's replica.

I think it's his own chakra forming the cloak for the simple reason that there would be nothing special about it if it was just another bijuu cloak. Even if you look at the cloak itself, it doesn't resemble any bijuu, it's a two headed man in a fox/rabbit hood.
