Who knows what the exact conditions are. Maybe this particular chunin-ranked ninja was feeling motivated and decided to creep up on our unsuspecting victim in their sleep. Maybe, in a particularly chaotic fight, they managed to sneak up behind our soon to be kunai target. It doesn't matter, because for whatever reason, there's no time to act, this kunai will go as deep into the head of this person as a chunin ninja can drive it.
Who would die from this kind of attack? Here's my list of notable ninjas. It's in progress.
Minato would die instantly
Itachi would die instantly
Sasuke would die instantly
Mei would die instantly
Garaa would die instantly
Lee would die instantly
Kakashi would die instantly
Nagato would die instantly
Dedreai would die instantly
Ramen Guy would die instantly
Tenten would die instantly
Current kabuto would die instantly
Obito could probably heal with hashi-cells
Madara could probably heal with hashi-cells (edo form would not be affected)
Sakura could probably heal herself
Naruto could probably get instant healing from 9-tails
Bee could probably get instant healing from 8-tails
Hashi might feel a tiny bump. He might accidently kill the chunin when he turns around to see what bumped him
Tsundre would heal herself and then splatter the chunin
Hidan would literally sacrifice the fool
Konan might live, I don't know if she's always paper or what
Sasori would turn him into a puppet for the good attempt
A would laugh at the pathetic attempt on his life, larret the chunin and then pass out from blood loss.
Oro could probably heal with hashi-cells. Failing that, oral rebirth. Failing that, curse mark. Failing that, released from Totsuka sword. Failing that, if the time was right he could body swap into the chunin. Oro won't die.
Kabuto Prime would probably spend a few minutes deciding how he would like to heal himself then do so. I'm assuming the chunin would have left by the time he decides.
