It wasn't Naruto close and both occasions can't be compared and should be use as a testament of Sasuke's or Naruto's power.

You're right. And the manga shows Shin running from Base Sasuke but staying to fight RSM Naruto. What does that tell you?

It says that Shin doesn't know how strong Naruto is and that he went as far as using MS against Naruto as soon as he saw him where as he tried to fight Sasuke with very basic weapons.

No it shows Shin is smart enough to escape Sasuke before Sasuke actually begins to fight seriously, Shin saw Narutos RSM but stayed put regardless :lol

Does it refute the fact that he doesn't know how strong Naruto is? Or That he attempted to fight Sasuke with basic weapons? Or That he used MS even when Naruto wasn't using RMS/ whatever you call it?

Shin ran away from both but the difference is that he used MS against Naruto and then ran away

Everyone knows the power of the Rinningan and the Sharingan but not many people know how strong Naruto is

Shin only activated MS against Naruto but didn't use only any of its techniques, he fought Sasuke and Naruto exactly the same using ninja weapons only, unless i missed something and he used Susano'o or his own special type of MS abilities :lol

Shin tested Sasuke and knew he doesn't stand a chance and left on his free will, fighting Naruto he was told to flee, otherwise he would have carried on fighting

The mini Juubi knew how strong he was, why wouldn't Shin? Plus Naruto activated BSM and released massive amount of Kuramas chakra (probably even sages chakra), but that didn't even scare or threaten him

No one is asking you to make excuses. I am asking you whether if what you said changes what I said in my post in any manner. Shin used MS against Naruto means that he tried better against Naruto than he did in case of Sasuke despite not knowing a thing about Naruto. The weapons appeared out of nowhere and it's clear as ay it was a work of his MS which means that it was his MS ability as there are no hints of any MS or shinobi besides Shin being able to use such an attack.

Shin fought Sasuke and learned how strong Sasuke is where as he has no idea about Naruto or his strength as they never clashed with each other. I appreciate you for your efforts but you did't accomplish anything with this explanation. The context in their respective battles can be interpreted in a 100 ways , some favours Sasuke and some favours the contrary. In the end they're nothing but mere assumptions and pointless interpretations. We have more than enough evidences in manga to decide what Naruto and Sasuke are truly capable of so why don't we just stop acting as if we understand manga better than anyone else and just admit that those scenarios can't be compared nor be used as a sign of their greatness?

Only things we actually learned form those fights are that Shin is strong, has amazing speed, reflexes and even MS. His MS ability has something to do with pulling weapons out of nowhere. And that he's no match for Sasuke or Naruto. Only clueless people would actually try to make Sasuke/Naruto look better by using a kid like Shin as a reference. Those who actually tries to use these shitty arguments to say their fav is better clearly did hit a mark which is beyond pinnacle of fanboyism.

So shin can determine how strong Sasuke is by seeing him use his sword and lighting stream only and leave to escape on his own, but still stick around and fight Naruto even after he activates BSM?

Makes sense :lol

Shin didn't determine Sasuke is strong just by looking at him . He engaged Sasuke in a battle and was easily countered by him where as everything Naruto did is to use his chakra arms to block Shin's attack . Shin refused to retreat because he has yet to accomplish his objective i.e. kidnap of Sarada not because he was confidant about killing Naruto or that he thinks Naruto is weak. Shin said Sasuke is strong after their battle proving that he determined how strong Sasuke is during their battle where as in case of Naruto Shins father himself conformed that Shin is no match for Naruto implying that Shin has no idea about Naruto.

Someone with better knowledge than Shin conformed that he can't stand up to Naruto so whatever Shin had in his mind when he decided to stay back won't effect anything regarding Naruto being superior to him,

So he can tell someone is strong by seeing them attack him by a basic move like lighting stream and katana but Shin seeing Naruto release massive amount of bijuu/rikudo chakra unexpectly won't?

I don't even get why you're so obsessed with this point. Even if Shin knows how strong Naruto is, it doesn't effect the fact that Naruto is out of his reach as it was canonically stated. So whether if Shin knows how strong Naruto is or not is irrelevant. I have already told you that you can't determine how strong someone is unless you actually test out his abilities like Shin did in case of Sasuke. Half of Naruto's chakra is hanging around in Konoha, Naruto ordered Kyubi to use only a bit of his power, he didn't even move an inch to even learn what he's truly capable of. Shin stayed behind because he wanted to capture Sarada not because he wanted to fight Naruto ,I don't even see your point here.

Once again if you're hoping that any evidence given by those battles can help you to make Sasuke look better then I'd suggest you to stop thinking like that as it'll end up making you look bad here.
