I'm not sure if anyone has brought it up yet, so if I'm repeating things, sorry. I thought this may be a plot hole. Irene/Eilene had Erza in her womb so that means that even though she was not born yet, she had been in existence for 400 years, so then, why was it that during the battle of fairy tail arc, after Evergreen's magic wore off of Erza, she was able to leave the guild and Natsu and Gajeel couldn't?? Shouldn't she have been stopped because she was older than 80 years??
you see! despite the fact that they were inside the dragon slayers, you think dragon were the cause of them being stuck in the guild. They existed inside of the dragon slayers. I'm trying to say that Erza also existed for 400 years. And also, the dragon slayers time traveled into the future so it shouldn't matter if they were born 400 years ago

Well clearly Freed's magic counts time of birth rather than time of conception.
The reason Natsu and Gajeel weren't able to pass the barrier hasn't been fully explained, but the only viable reasons are either that they were counted as 400+ because of the time travel, or because the dragons were prevented from passing the barriers. Neither applies to Erza, as she was not born 400 years ago, and if she has any dragons they're probably the young sort.
This is just a plot hole on top of another plot hole. For instance, Eileen being the Queen of Dragons make no sense, especially with everything that went on. If she's the Queen of Dragons then:
Why the hell didn't Acnologia not only know her, but didn't sense anything when he ran into her?

I think even in the real world you count a person's age from the day they were born not including how long they spent in their mother's womb. The dragon slayers were already walking this earth for their age to be counted whereas Erza was still not yet born. On top of it each Dragon slayer had their respective dragon hiding inside of them who were definitely more than 80 and that could be another reason for Natsu and Gajeel to be unable to pass.
Just going to list out her flaws, anyone is open to debunk but Irene fanboys will probably just ignore it and say "you're just salty"
1. "I am you, you are me." That was a weak explanation. She tried to merge with erza and failed. Which means they're not the same. Why did she say it? False hype. And don't even say "well erza was inside her" do I tell me my mom were the same because I was inside her?
2. She went from "do whatever you want to me but don't harm my baby" to "****ing aborting this little piece of trash", what a gal. This happened through forced story telling. She blamed her kid for her own problems, isn't that charming? Blaming an innocent baby for your problems?
3. It took 400 years for her to give birth? Why?
4. Got tricked by Mavis even when she was staring right at her and feeling her magical power.
5. Told neinhart to go kill erza even tho she's not killing erza currently and was even kind enough to tell her about her past.
6. Hates erza's guts when she was a baby, wanted the baby dead, LEFT ERZA ALIVE IN A VILLAGE
7. Past incredibly forced, zero foreshadowing or reasoning
8. She's a dragon slayer and has dragon still within her. Acnologia didn't sniff her out because hiro came up with with concept a month ago
9. She couldn't give birth to erza because... "magic", what the hell does that even mean?
10. And used Universe One the biggest asspull in the series
That's 10 flaws in one arc alone, that's bad writing authors can only dream of.
Don't hype yourselves up. Did y'all forget about Larcade?

A lot of this makes me think current Irene is a somewhat undependable source of information. My theory is that her leaving Erza at Rosemary was her final act of motherly love before losing her old self to her envy for her daughter's human body. Reading her account of the story, however, leads me to think about how much of a contradiction her new behavior is to how she previous was, with the most notable changes occurring seemingly after she met Zeref... I wonder if his curse had any role to play with how she became after she turned back into a pseudo-human...
Well it pretty much has already been explained in previous posts. We don't know how exactly Freed's magic works, however considering we count the age of someone starting from the day they were born, the same would be true for Freed's rune magic. We don't really take into account the conception or pregnancy period. When you are one year old, it means a year has passed since your birth and Erza was born 20-25 years ago or something. The dragon slayers on the other hand were born 400 years ago.
This is a viable explanation, however if you don't agree with this because Natsu & co did a time warp, well then you still have the dragons inside of them. Even though their ages are nowhere mentioned, most likely they were already quite old even 400 years ago, which renders the time warp dilemma mute. Belserion is an example of this as he was acquainted with Irene's predecessor, stating that a long time ago that person saved him. This indicates he had been around for a while, so assuming that Igneel and the others were already at least 80 years old on the moment they went to the future, is acceptable.
So Erza differs on two aspects from the dragon slayers. In the end Erza isn't a dragon slayer either and who are the ones who were blocked by Freed's magic? The dragon slayers.

I think you really need to reconsider your definition of what a plot hole exactly as and at least bother reading other people's replies before eagerly jumping on the 'lets ignorantly bash FT bandwagon'. The issue the OP gave is not a plot hole considering at least two acceptable, logical explanations can be given. Irene's title is likewise not a plot hole either. Irene was a queen of a country, a country where people coexisted with dragons. So she literally was a queen of dragons, that's not so much a title as a factual description similar to how I am an administrator on an internet forum. This is something quite differently from Acnologia whose epithet is a somewhat self imposed title meaning 'the strongest dragon' which he claimed by beating all the other dragons. Don't forget that the dragon war was the first 'Dragon King Festival' while Irene was already a 'dragon queen' before that.
That Acnologia didn't know her, doesn't mean much either. We have now met two characters that underwent a dragon transformation and both of them have some psychotic tendencies. So we can conclude that turning into a dragon causes some mental issues. Also originally Zirconis implied that Acnologia was fighting for the pro-human faction, while Irene now implied that he came from out of nowhere, like an unknown third party. So Acnologia's origin is still a mystery, ergo that he doesn't seem to know Irene, means absolutely nothing. Most likely we are going to learn of his past in the near future which could and should explain all of this, thus this is not a plot hole (yet). You are being ridiculously unreasonable here if you expect every inconsistency to be explained immediately.
Summary: You call in this thread something a plot hole while it already had been proven earlier in the same thread that that is not the case. Following up you call something else a plot hole that likewise isn't one either. After that you repeat a series of criticisms, asking to "answer" them, something I did two weeks ago and on which you did not reply. So with other words you don't bother to either think nor to read other people's replies and just mindlessly parrot a series of criticisms someone else said. This behavior has a certain sense of poetic irony to it. FT is a simple manga that has several obvious flaws, but for some reason people either pick on things that can actually be explained or their replies have the same level as those of a child: "it sucks", "it's bad", "I don't like it" etc. Your comments about why this series is so bad, are even worse than how bad you claim the series to be and that's just sad. The people who seem to be the most suited to read a series like this, are the ones who foulmouth it the most.
Well I for one, didn't make this thread to complain that the manga is bad. I just pointed out what I noticed was odd and was looking for an answer.
That's why it was called "potential plot hole" but maybe I should have put "possible plot hole"
