It's just the correct amount of bad writing on Kishimoto's part, the deus ex machinas involved and the fact that it had to be Itachi to be the person to take out my favourite character, yeah- this really wasn't a fun time for me :')

Dialogue leading up to this was too sappy. The Demon Zabuza cried. Being in the fishing village, other people cried. Being so early into the manga, how was I supposed to get into the series with this in the way?

Yeah this was totally unnecessary, Dosu rocks and did not have to be taken out that stupidly.

I also don't have a problem with the Tobito reveal page at all, it was a good reveal- they just should've saved the flashback with Obito for after we see him without the mask, also if Kakashi and Guy hadn't basically confirmed it a couple of chapters before.
