think of this analogy. you can't pull a 25 year old man from a woman but you can pull a 9 month fetus from a woman. the 9 month fetus will eventually grow up won't it? so you should think of the gedo statue as the fetus, the god tree as the 25yo man and obito the woman. i think the tree is still on the field because it'll have plot importance (used to boost naruto's/sasuke's/everyone else's chakra)
