Please read. Hope it makes sense! I am too lazy to post pictures so I am going to just get straight to it.
We all know Kabuto came to the scene and gave Sasuke, Hashirama's Cells.
Although people say Naruto has Ashura's chakra now, that does not necessarily mean that the Senju DNA reserves Kabuto/Obito has, does not still have remnants of Ashura's chakra. The Senju DNA was cultivated when Ashura's chakra was within Hashirama's DNA.
We all know that Rinnegan = Indra's chakra + Ashura's chakra. Not something like EMS Kakashi + Senju Tsunade DNA = Rinnegan.
We also know that, Two Brothers = Two Halves of 1 whole power(The Rikudo's) and that the Rinnegan Awakening = Sage of Six Path Transmigrate.
The sage told Naruto that Something altered the transmigrate time, that something was Madara awakening the Rinnegan and becoming the sage's transmigrate instead of dying/continuing as Indra's.
We all know Sasuke is all about power and has become a character whose ego and selfishness has made him independent and sees things need to be done in his way.
If Sasuke does in fact gain Ashura's power from the Senju DNA given from Kabuto, and awakens the Rinnegan, that would make Sasuke the same case as Madara. Sasuke will have screwed up the transmigration cycle and will be the newest transmigrate of the sage. Sasuke had also heard the sage say Madara awakened the rinnegan and that made Madara the sages transmigrate.
This means Sasuke knows, Rinnegan = Sage of the Six Path's transmigrate.
Sasuke will not cooperate with Naruto in order to reform the ninja world at this point. Indra was a character of doing things on his own and not knowing what cooperation truly was. This never changed for Indra, and this is the case for Sasuke's character. I can't see Sasuke's character changing to the point where he is like Naruto and cooperates with others.
Sasuke seeing himself as the sole reformer and the era's Sage of the Six Paths, will see that the world needs to be changed in his way, and his way alone. Not needing the cooperation of Naruto and others, while maintaining Sasuke's long term quality of being an independent character.
From here we get Naruto vs Sasuke, with an unknown result. Double death? Sasuke cooperates..?(doubtful) or Sasuke dies (doesnt solve anything in Naruto's eyes)
This will give a continuous parallel in Sasuke and Indra's character since Sasuke no matter what resolves to be independent before and after he would awaken the Rinnegan
And just so all those who know/want Sasuke will get the rinnegan, Sasuke getting rinnegan would mean Sasuke is the Sage's transmigrate. THINK ABOUT IT!
LASTLY(edit): Rinnegan made Nagato think he was a God and the reformer, just imagine Sasuke with his views and the Rinnegan. And we need a Naruto vs Sasuke fight you know why? We cant just end the series with Naruto and Sasuke getting crazy strong and seeing them fight the legendary Rikudo Madara Uchiha and that be it. No we need a much bigger and better fight we need to see them use there full powers on each other. It would be the same as when Yusuke got the sacred energy Vs Yomi and then we never got to see the depths to his power using the sacred energy. If Kishi decides to end this fight soon that just means Naruto vs Sasuke will be HUGE
