Possible foreshadowing that Lee might be another candidate to die?

I was rereading the Chunin exams arc and came across this:

Lee promising to Sakura to protect her until the day he dies which sounds pretty significant. Maybe not just for Sakura but for the rest of the Konoha 11 as well? Also I see it as the trigger for Gai to open the eighth gate. Don't get me wrong though, Gai and Lee are my favourite characters in the series along with Kakashi, Shikamaru and Gaara!

Hopefully it isn't as disgraceful as Neji's death. I'd like Lee to go out with a bang, and for the next chapters after to focus on him just as much as the main characters. Seeing 8 gates would be incredible!

But yeah, Kishi can definitely feed off that and take it further

I'll be sad but since the series is almost over I can accept it if it's don't right. I don't want no Neji sh*t t happen to him. He needs to go all out with a new tech fighting protecting Sakura or something like that. Then Gai seeing a dead Lee he flashes back to the time he told him "if you die, I will die as well" and goes 8th gate and owns Madara/Obito.

I don't want Lee to waste his life for Sakura.

But if he ever dies; i want him to go gates and do some epic stuff; and those stuff to be effective on the tides of war. Then Gai goes after him aswell since he already said Lee that if he dies he would die with him aswell. Authore showing the same case of big moveset one after another is unlikely; i think a single one of them would be the one who go gates.

And please no shitty death like Neji's...just horrible.

As epic as it sounds, I don't want both of them to do it, since I would like one of them to still be around and it would be hard on poor Tenten!

I doubt lee will die, I actually would like kishi to follow through with lee and show us that hard work can overcome Natural Talent/Born into speical familys or people who are destined for power.

I would be very disappointed if lee died, Kishi will basically be saying, No matter how hard you try, Natural Gifts/inheritance >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Any amount of hard work.

Can't imagin Gai's rage if it actually did happen, Konoha's green beast will go beast mode
