[Discussion] Poseiden really a threat??

Do you really think that the ability to call sea kings (the power of the ancient weapon Poseiden) is really that great??

Several people in the manga have been shown capable of cutting down sea kings with ease including Zoro. Is it then really so threatening to call forth sea kings (SK)?? Agreed, the SK could destroy entire island but so could the WB's devil fruit..

So, it is really worthy of its name?? What do you think

I dont think Shirahoshi has any DF ability otherwise she could not swim in water. What do you mean by the statement exactly?

I mean a Devil fruit user who is in control of Shirahoshi, or in someway capable of getting her to use her abilities in their favor, like Luffy can.

I think the ones Shirahoshi calls are much more powerful then the ones that have been cut down earlier in the manga/anime.

Yup..that may be the case...I think its only good if those seakings are not destroyed by someone powerful b4 they can actually destroy islands..kinda weak ancient weapon if you ask me..but then again it travels in water which gives it an edge..

No one flies in One Piece except those with flying DFs. Do you not realize how powerful Shirahoshi is? She who controls the waters controls the world. OP world isn't a world of land, it's a world of water. U_U

Where would the DF monsters be if their ships were always being destroyed? Where would Shanks be if his crewmen didn't have a ship?

Trade routes would be disrupted. Territories wouldn't be reached. There would be stagnation in terms of cultural development.

Besides, there is a difference between a Sea King and a Sea Monster.

1. When I said Shirahoshi controls water, I meant that she can just send tsunamis at border cities, cripple trading routes, destroy the Marine waterways that connect Enies Lobby, Impel Down, and Marineford ... she can sink the world underwater. In a sense yes, she does.

2. Not everyone in the OP world are Shanks-level. Not everyone in the OP world have Aokiji's fruit, Hie Hie no Mi. Not everyone in the OP world can master Fishman Karate like Jinbe. In the manga, we are afforded a look at these top tier people, but your perceptions are screwed because of it.

3. How? By shooting rifles at them? Send Admirals to patrol the oceans, when they have more important duties to do?

Again..How can Shirahoshi send tsunamis?? The only power she has is to COMMUNICATE with seakings, NOT EXACTLY CONTROL THEM, as it has been shown in the manga. Since, seakings can think for themselves, it is arguable if they would ever destroy any island even if Shirahoshi wanted them to.

Anyways coming back to the argument, there aren't thousands of people in OP who can defeat a seaking, however there are a few hundreds..and I take it that seakings aren't that common creature as well otherwise the world would already be in chaos. Again, if pre-skip Luffy can do it..then, many can.

LOLz..they can simply affix cameras in ocean..submarine patrolling and use sea stone..i think that should do the trick..and even a vice-admiral can easily win against a seaking as made clear by Momonga's fight.

She is supposed to be queen of the seakings. She will probably able to control them well enough. The ones she can call are big enough to drown islands and can create enough problems.

Uhm, have you looked at it right? The kraken fit on the plaza of fishman island, the seakings Shirahoshi called each were nearly as big as the whole island ._.

Think about it, one massive sea king may not be a big threat to someone like Luffy, but what if they are summoned in groups of a dozen.. or let's go weird and say a group of 100 giant sea kings the size which also appeared at fishman island, the sea kings no fishman beside shirahoshi could communicate with all under the command of one person. Shirahoshi could destroy the world with them.

Sigh. If Pre-skip Luffy can defeat a SMALL Sea King, huh? We're talking about island-sized ones like in Fishman Island, and pre-skip Luffy is SPECIAL. You think Luffy can do battle on a broken ship with creatures the size of islands? Sea Kings aren't Don Krieg.

Sea Stone isn't a common element. The Marines haven't shown submarines. Den Den Mushis are creatures and can't be left outside for long periods of time. I didn't know Vice Admirals could patrol the WHOLE GRAND LINE and Calm Belt.

I mean really, you're taking this too personally. So what if your argument is shot down? It doesn't mean the end of the world does it? Besides, like I said your sense of power is screwed. You assume there are Luffy-level people every island, and that Vice-Admirals are on hand each time there's a Sea King attack.

OP wasn't very clear on exactly what posiden(i thought it was neptune?) really is. Her ability to call sea kings is only a part of it, but remember how the king was all "Dont destroy the ship!"...I think her ability is only one part of the total weapon. Making statements about how effective it is now...no one can really say. We know that it is one of three devestating weapons from the forgotten century...so I think there must be ALOT more involved than just SKs.

I looked again and still couldn't judge if they were really bigger than Kraken. Anyways, I do remember that the Kraken was a legendary fearsome creature by itself. Well, of course numbers matter but I think as soon as WB would have got the hint about SK, he would have destroyed them all.

Well, I said its ARGUABLE ; not that it isn't possible.

And judging from your entire argument, I think you want the entire world to be saved against Poseiden. What I am arguing is that it isn't a major threat. Calamities do occur and even if an island or two is destroyed, it wont affect the world in a major way since the attacks of Poseiden can be controlled.

Of course, a surprise attack could do some damage, but that is true for so many people who alone can harm any place in a fatal way.

About submarines - I think bubble coated ships will work the same way as submarines.
About seastone - Marines use it on ships and weapons. We really dont know about the quantity yet.
About camera - Vegapunk can easily do something about it. And what more, he could easily make Pacifistas fight in water which solves the patrolling issue.
